There were numerous talks\meeting parts on “worldly vacations do not equal vacation from organizational (Christian) duties.”
Taking vacation from organization (Christian) equals weak\demonized\worldly\apostate tendencies. Just insert your own favorite cult phrase word – any will work just as well.

Can JW's take vacations.....from the truth?
by JH in.
when jw's want a vacation, they have to go someplace to justify that they aren't at the hall.
so often we hear that brother of sister "x" went to hawaii for 3 weeks, and everybody is happy.. but, if a jw doesn't have the money to take a real vacation, but just wants to take, lets say 3 weeks off, and stay at home without going to any meeting, can it be done without questions asked, just like the couple going to hawaii?.

City Confidential - Profiled Jehovahs Witness murdered in Boise, Idaho
by pratt1 ini was wondering if any one else saw the city confidential eposide on saturday may 7th, that profiled a dub from boise, idaho that was killed by a russian dancer - her husband.. i didn't see the show from the beginning, but apparently the russian dancer was convicted of murdering the dub, however he still claims his innocence - his theroy is that the jehovah witnesses killed his wife because she married him.
a voilation of their laws.
he appeared to have some supporters who also believed in his innocence.. .

by buffalosrfree inin 2003 a elder who happens to be the p.o.

Let me ask this.
Of those that are putting down the elders, how many have been elders?
Possibly you have no idea how much time, effort, etc it takes to be an elder. Then to be treated like crap by the ones in the congregation that you have tried to help and have spent hours upon hours with, treated like crap by the CO, treated like crap by the DO, treated like crap by the tyrant "Gods of this system of things". I can go on. What really got me was that a lot of the people that you spent most of the time on appreciated it the least - would make the most cutting, bitter, untrue remarks.
I agree that some elders are in it for the glory and are self serving; but those are the minority. Most are truly trying to help, although mislead by the Borg, they are trying their best.
Been there, done that, won't ever do it again!

How many of the public go to the Public Talk?
by truthseeker inif you're still going to meetings, how many of the public actually go to the public talk?
or do you see the same old tired worn faces?.
in my hall, you never see a member of the public just come in and say, i'd like to stay and hear this talk.. was there ever a time when complete strangers would just come in, sit down and actually listen?.

This wasn?t a person that just ?happened? off the street, but, I had one person come to a meeting that was an acquaintance. He came in just as the meeting started and sat beside me. After the meeting two people immediately came up and asked to start a Bible study even after he told them he came because I had asked him to come. On the way to the door, three more came up and two of the three wanted to start Bible studies, again after he told them he came because I had asked him to come. I met him at the door and his response when I asked what he thought about the meeting- ?I?ll never come back? all these people , all they want is to study the Bible with me, not have fellowship , that?s the first thing they ask!?
I found out later what had happened on the way to the door; I knew about the first two and asked them what they were thinking about when they asked him to study when they knew he was there with me. Both responses was that they needed a bible study to turn in on their report and knew that I had three already.

Interesting Obituary
by ValiantBoy init is certainly no my intent to speak badly of htose who have passed, but this guy must have been very interesting to have in the cong, and, no doubt the congregation was proud of the columns he wrote.
but, so much for witnesses remaing neutral on political issues, showing love and tolerance, etc.. and i hope mr hatcher realized that the first president of the wts was ... gasp..a vegetarian.. e-mail this story printer-friendly version.
sunday, april 24, 2005. fairlawn man lived and shared a simple code.

OH MY GOD ... I SAW IT!!! Not really.
The poster said "I want the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth". HAHAHAHA! That's a good one dude. You are either trying to pull a good joke on everyone, or are just a nut job. Which is it?
If you think I am going to believe that idiot babbling for a second think again. Manipulating images is no better than misquoting someone when trying to prove your point. Either way, you loose credibility.

by loosie in.
what is the most ridiculous song that you couldn't listen too.. because of so called bad lyircs (maybe misheard lyrics), sexy beat or because fo the person who sang it didn't have the proper morals?.
mine.... couldn't listen to ac/dc because it meant they went both ways.

KM School, Private "letters", Elders Mtgs, and your point is........?
by upside/down ini've never understood something... all the political elbowing for superiority and right to brow beat the flock and have a facade of respect due to and unearned, but rather siezed position and the wts can't fix it with all the "provisions from j"?.
i've been to km school, read the "letters" from "mother" and sat through endlessly boring bickerfests meetings.
all the old timers and the politically motivated and upwardly mobile kiss asses ms and elders are in such a tizzy to go to these so they can have "one up-manship" over the rest of the flock (apparently being "in the know" is very titilating).. i remember that most of the counsel from the wts seemed "good", especially that geared toward how ms and elders should conduct themselves and treat the flock.

The only thing you get at the "Elders" school is the same stuff, only more "to the point". Articles in the Watchtower are written in a way that the GB and the writing committee can deny responsibility for elder?s actions in the congregations.
Then the CO's and DO's come by and "clarify" what was printed so that the iron fist is applied. Then the elder are the ass-holes and the GB and "Society" as a whole are ?So understanding" and "Kind", and the elders are "tyrants" and "Pharisees" for enforcing the verbal directions sent down ?from above?.
What a racket the Mob running the Watchtower Corporation has going! Russell was right? all organized religion is a snare and a racket.
