"Wow, I never thought of that. Now that I?m trying to get out I see everything differently and I am aware of how damaged we are. I remember that my mother celebrated two of my birthdays and also assisting to other people's birthdays. We were cautious about telling anything about it, but we were afraid of somebody finding out or somebody seeing us. So, I grew up with fear of everything, because we thought that it was really bad. We grew up with very low self-esteem too. Now I have a baby and I don?t want her to go through the same thing. I want something better for her. That started a problem with my family. They don?t leave her alone, everyday they are lecturing her about Santa and Christmas. I did tell her about Santa, but she is still a baby, so when in school they talk about him she just repeats...

What a bad and cruel comparison, if a young boy saw another eating ice cream you can explain that little boy is going to die, but the young boy want the ice cream anyway. We all grown up, but we all want the best thing anyway, the best car, the best house, etc.
Well, about oral sex, that is so ridiculous, that actually somebody ask if this is right. Why they not enjoy their marriages. Nobody have to know what you do with your husband or wife in the bedroom.

by minimus indid you always call the elders or talk to them about things?
did you have a favorite elder that you confided to about everything?
if someone was acting inappropriately, did you feel obliged to "report" them to the elders?

But my friend still does. She goes for everything and asks for everything. I tried to persuade, it isn't easy with her.

Free Literature at the Kingdom Hall
by frankiespeakin ini was thinking for all you guys who go the kingdom hall even though you know it's not the truth,, in order to keep from loosing all your friends and family,, why not take advantage of the wt free literature at your kh?
i mean the wt is forcing you to go to meetings with the threat of being outcasted from your family why not put a little dent in their finances but getting all the free literature you can and not contibuting anything for it.
after all the wt is offering it free of charge.

How did you feel when you learned it was all a lie?

i grew up as a jw i left the church when i was 14 because a ministerial servant who was conducting a one on one baptism study with me said that i couldn't ballance my dreams of being a professional singer with the so called "truth".
i stopped the study and told my mom i no longer wanted to be a witness.

Everything that all said and of course a LOOOOOOOOOOOT OF ANGER . But this post is what I really feel now:
I "knew" many things weren't "right". But I stuffed those things in the back of my mind with the hope that I'd "get it" later. I "got it", alright! I didn't like JWS being called a "cult". Now I realize, it's simply what they are. I am relieved and happy to be out.
Of course some days I feel angry again, because I have to be hypocrite with family and friends.

Can YOU Determine A "Real Apostate" From A "Fake Apostate"?
by minimus inso often , on this board, we see imposters claiming to be interested in learning the truth about the "truth".
they may seem to genuinely want to know things and they might ask thought-provoking questions.....so how do you know if the person you're dealing with is the real deal or not??
any tips to help us know who those "fake apostates" are??

they watch to see who is contribuitng and who is not.
I don't have that problem. My brother is in Bethel, so I ask him for literature. He thinks I donate in the KH and they think that I give $$$ to my brother.
