i feel the need to ramble.. as some of you may have detected, i at times have doubts and questions about the personality and qualities of god and the bible.
however i am still clinging to a good amount of my faith in their goodness.
this is why i am now, as some of you have in the past, studying deeply and looking for myself into what the bible says.
Yes those scriptures tell a story but sometimes and for most nearly impossible to see. There’s a deep conflict in discovering those statements and see them for what the really are.
We must all try to be open minded to facts and let the Bible tells its own story.

You hit good points. Its not easy being elder not believes basis JW doctrines. I try to avoid those statements. I speak about basis Christian values instead. It has been easier that I though it would be. Many have been saying they like and appreciate my “new” way of speaks. They are more positive and not like many based upon fear and obeying. I also thing it’s more easier here in the north of Europe than in USA. We are more against authorities and go our own ways.
About me it started with the change of the “1914-generation” It make me feel sorrow and also a little angry for mainly all the old ones. Many of the old brothers and sister thought they were never going to die before Armageddon. By a WT lesson this was all gone and with no apologies and sorrow from the GB. That made me a little anger. Little by little it forced me to think about the whole thing and about a ½ a year ago I started serious to find information mainly about chronology. That information has made me reconsider my beliefs about the 1914 and the GB.
But I love my family. I have a beautiful wife and 2 children at 12 and 14 year which I will never do anything wrong against. So new thoughts must come slow and gentle

About anger for what the Board have done to me I try not to fall in that “crevasse” I think anger is a very strong force of destroying people. It makes people look back and not forward. I try not to repeat that wrongdoing. So I try to look upon me and look forward to open eye and think about how beautiful live is.
That doesn’t make me blind - only facing the real live and try to move on. The only think that really make me mad is when someone or something try to do wrong to my wife and my children.

Thanks for your post. I’ll try to remove the rafter from my eye. I live in Europe and I think the JW lives is a little different to the USA. Mainly here in the north of Europe we are raised to distrust authorities and women are in general more closed to men compare to your country. My wife is very strong and as said well educated – just like my self. So we were allowed to take a good education and the problems inside the JWs about that was only a little.
My confusion is between to live with at women very independent and fast thinking and facing the reality that a long JW live has affected her a lot. That makes me a little angry - not on her but to the JW reasons to that.
Yes you are right - I have been there for a long time. So I’m not the one to force anybody to react at once. It’s time to think.

I’m sorry if I have said something wrong about women. That’s not my point. Man and women are equal in values but they are different and supplement each other in a beautiful way. By the JW teaching that’s not the case. JW are not allowed women to be a real part of the society even they have some very important values to add.
I do know I have a responsibility to show patience and let my wife choose her own speed and respect her choice even I don’t like her choose. I will stay with her and love her no matter what she decides about staying or not.
My points was that we sometimes think different and I only want to understand more to be able to respect more. A wish to understanding can't be that bad.
Please accept my apologies if I said something wrong about women – that wasn’t my opinion. I think you did misunderstand my point.

i am a policitcal conservative, at least a fiscal conservative and sociel moderate.
i support the death penalty, but i agree that our judicial system needs to overhaul how wwe treat criminals to achieve better rehabilitation results.
and of course, withhold the death penalty in cases where there could be doubt.. in mcveigh's case, i believe that he deserves the death penalty.

I still think there are different between man and women. Women seem to be more loyal and stick to their basis even it shows to be evil and false. Wife very often stays with her man beating them and handle them in a bad way. I think we have the same reaction inside JW. Some stay no matter what.
Men very often if things turns the bad way just react: I don’t care and go my own way – they are all stupid. Women are more loyal but sometimes too much.
It’s not to say women are naive just to say they are more loyal.
