  nasty, nasty!! I hope this guy gets what's deserved. I also hope that this girl's parents figure out what's going on with their daughter and keep a tighter hold on what she does during day. I know that's hard because I know the bs I pulled when i was that age (although it wasn't meeting up with adults at hotels) but I know now that what I did wasn't safe and I was lucky.

  New here - question about roommate getting baptized

  i've been lurking on different ex-jw boards for a few years now and this is my first post to this board.. .

  i am a 42 yr old gay female who has a roommate who is studying to be baptized.

  we are not romantically involved.

  What people here on JWD are saying sounds about right.

  The person on the other site that stated

  I'm not sure about that. If you have never had that kind of a relationship together, I can't see any reason why rooming with you wouldn't be the same as rooming with any other girl. If she's straight, then there is likely no temptation for her.

  I'm pretty sure is wrong...see, JWs have a really old mind set..the kind that thinks people can be converted into homosexuality.

  Being gay is considered a huge sin and if JWs know she'll be encouraged to have no contact with you once it's certain she's in the group. My mom cut off (shunned) her sister and my grandmother (who weren't gay) for years. She also cut off my uncle (actually my much older cousin) with the only reason being he was gay.

  You sound like a good friend. I hope things get better for you and your roommate...let us know if you need more questions answered.

  Bebu's Mom is back in the hospital. (new)

  i haven't seen bebu posting these last few days, and thought maybe she went on vacation with her family.

  then i started to wonder if her mom and her son were okay, as they both had serious medical problems lately.

  bebu contacted me today, and told me her mom took a turn for the worst, and is in the icu.

  Program for Incarcerated Dads

  i just read about this program that allows prison inmates to make audio cassette recordings reading bed-time stories for their children.

  part of me wants to believe this is helping these inmates to realize what they are missing out on with their own children and bolster their efforts to rehabilitate and reintegrate into society upon parole.

  another part is just livid............ who is reading bedtime stories to the children whose fathers or mothers may have been murdered by one of these inmates?literacy program for prisoners, children .

  I do think it's a good idea. However my ex-brother in law is in prison and because of what he put his kids and my sister through...if he made tapes I'm not sure the kids would listen. They're young but they remember well. BUT I'm not being a nay sayer here...I can see this being very benificial not only for the kids but for the dads.

  So maybe it is a good idea and may work in some cases.

  pills, hehe...I did take one about an hour ago but nothing's happening. I think I'm actually over tired so I feel a little hyper. I had a long week. I don't have anything to do until tomorrow night though so...I'll sleep.
