does anyone know what the watchtower's stance is on marrying a person who has been divorced on grounds of spousal abandonment?
the person who was divorced is not a jw, and the other person is inactive, but baptised and is currently going to meetings.
if they were to marry would any action be taken against the baptised person.
This person who is an inactive-ish witness is dating a man who's wife abandoned him and left the coutry, and he divorced her. This inactive witness who has recently started to reattend meeings is afraid that the elders are going to tell her she can't marry this man because his divorce wasn't based on reasons of fornication, but abandonment.

i've heard from past posters who have had to go through the nightmare of a judicial committee, and the elders made them go into minute detail about what did or didn't happen regarding sexual matters.
my question is, is there someplace in the printed literature that describes the questions that should be asked by the committee?

Thanks so much for the replies. She has said she wants to see proof from a publication, that the elders are required to ask questions that are extremely 'personal'. I've looked in the elders book and there is some stuff under the 'porneia' section. maybe it's just left up to the individual elders to determine the questions and there isn't any standard set of questions.
