why did you become a dub?.
a hope for something better?.
an acceptance that your parents religion was the truth?.

what a beautiful voice.
what a truly beautiful lady.. we had it as our first dance / wedding song (hey, i still got the moves ... unfortunately they are 'wooden waltz' ones).
Love that movie! A very classy, beautiful lady. Love the line from that movie where she calls the cat "Poor no name slob" Don't ask me why that bit sticks out in my mind lol!

Mother started studying when I was 3 and she was baptised shortly there after. No more christmas or halloween for me after that I can actually remember those few christmases that I had, and I remember being a princess for halloween. boohoo lol! I did get the best husband in the world out of the whole deal though. Wouldn't have met him if I hadn't been a J-Dubya.

there are two things.
in the early and mid 80s there were witnesses saying that the cartoon characters the smurfs were not acceptable for witnesses.
i had two smurf cartoon books and my mother made me throw them away.
The circuit overseer told us we should by no means go see the second raiders of the lost ark movie, Indiana Jones and the temple of doom. He actually mentioned this from the platform. Because it was announced from THE PLATFORM This was gospel, and no one saw it, ok so no one admitted to seeing it LOL!!

i just can't believe that i underwent major surgery twice and signed papers that i would not take blood.
i shudder to think what would have happened had my only child faced such a situation.
i'm amazed at my past stupidity.. i knew a young sister who lost her new husband when he needed blood after a car accident.
Wow, this is such a sad topic! I too can't believe that I had 3 major surgeries and signed those damn papers stuck in my face by my local liason posse every damn time. Makes me sick now to think of it. My husbands grandfather died a few years back because of not taking a blood transfusion. He had severe diverticulitis and lost a huge amount of blood through an intestinal hemmorage. They tried using blood expanders, but they had no affect. He also suffered from a blood disorder due to arsenic exposure as a child so his red blood cells did not produce as quickly as they were supposed to. So because of this large blood loss (Which was controlled quickly once in the hospital) his heart basically became starved of oxygen, as there were simply not enough red blood cells to carry the O2 to his poor starved heart which gave out. So sad that a simple transfusion would have saved him quite easily.
If they aren't blood guilty for these uncounted masses dying I don't know who would be!
Sick, sick, sick!

just curious.
are there any out there who are not christians, ie.
born again pagans .
Thanks so much all for your input
I think perhaps it's time I spend less timing thinking and guilt tripping about whether I'm doing the right thing all the time and perhaps FEEL life instead of going through the motions!
Thanks again!!!!!
You guys are the best

Just curious. Are there any out there who are not christians, ie. born again pagans , atheists, etc. who still celebrate Christmas?
If you are pagan do you celebrate according to pagan tradition on the solstice with the burning of the yule log, etc. Or do you mix in the christian aspect of it as well? As someone born and raised a JW but now not completely sure of my belief system in general, the holidays are very appealing to someone denied them her whole life, but as far as the christian holidays go I think I might feel odd celebrating them when I don't fully believe in the bible as the unadulterated word of *God*. I am sooo confused. My boys are at the age now (6 years old this Dec.) where they are finding the holidays absolutely fascinating. I did give them their first party for their birthday which they LOVED. Is there anyone else out there who has gone through any of these feelings or has been in a similar situation? I would appreciate any of your experiences.
Thanks

when you were a witness how sure were you that it was the truth?.
were you totally convinced or did you think it was just the best way to serve a god but not perfect.. it amazes me when i think of how vigourusly i defended the witness and my ideals when on the minisrty and in talking to friends.. what worries me is that if i was so covinced then about what i belive then should i be so convinced now.. back then i was at the pinnacle of understanding or at least i belived i was , do i feel the same now?.
well i try to not be so dogmatic about thing now.
As someone raised from a very young age as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I didn't start questioning until probably around 13 or 14. From that time on I became a 3 and a 4. Right now my doubts go beyond just not believing that the JWs have the truth. I truly believe that the universe (God, The Great Spirit, Goddess, The entity or entities that started everything ) Is much greater than any one holy book. I think somewhere amidst all the confusion of the worlds religions there is bits and pieces of *truth* but there is no one that has a monopoly on it.

wow the pioneer numbers seriously dropped!! Why are there more king-kong halls tho? very odd

it would seem that there are many who upon leaving rigid and structured religion, end up taking an interest in becoming pagan.
there are many misconceptions of just what it is that paganology stands for.. to find out more, maybe take a look at these two sites, and tour around, to see and experience, more than just a glimpse into the ancienct land, from which earth i come from.. spirit of place.
cornish language studies.
Thanks for the great links Celtic! I look forward to learning more about your beautiful part of the world. My sister goddess bless her had the wisdom to never get baptised and is now a wiccan. I am somewhere *between worlds* lol, and am looking at the world with unbiased eyes, trying to discover what my path to spirituality will be.
Thanks again
