This is our very first year putting up a tree :) I just couldn't tell the kids no anymore! Why should they not have Christmas because their mommy and daddy grew up in a weird religion that they don't even believe in anymore. I remember last year my one son came home from school (they were 5 at the time) And he said "You know what mommy?" And I said "No what honey?" And he said "Did you know that Christmas is the BEST time of the year!!!!" His little face was so full of joy...but me still being "betweenworlds" gave some lame ass answer like "well honey, some people think so, but yadadada...I don't even remember all of what I said. All I really remember is that when I looked at him again the effect was that I had taken the wind out of his sails. Never again!!!! They were so thrilled when we brought the tree home and they got to help put the decorations on
The tree makes the house smell very lovely and it just makes my heart happy to look at it
guess this makes me offically firmly planted on this big beautiful world and not floating somewhere between

everone is in confusion
by zolensky ini joined this site last week hoping to meet people that would steer me back to the organization.
instead the people i have talked to her are all trying to tell me too see the light and get out of the organization.
in my opinion, not that it matters, i really think that if a person had the truth deeply ingrained in them, they would never leave the truth.

Wow Dave! Thanks for posting that info. That is fascinating :) I'm printing it out.
I'm going through a book now called 101 myths of the bible, which is also very interesting! It's goes through 101 different stories of the old testament and shows how that they were almost certainly derived from various Egyptian, Sumerian and other more ancient stories and myths.
Thanks!

i could not handle all the rules and regulations
Hey Zolensky :) Welcome to the board!
About what you said above, That is one of the main things that bothers me about the Watchtower society. All the rules and regulations! They claim to be christian, but in fact act more like the pharisees in regards to all the regulations that they have. Jesus did not require his followers to obey a bunch of laws. All he wanted is for them to believe in him and to love their neighbors as themselves :) The Watchtower society tries to follow a great deal of the mosaic law, and be christian at the same time. It just doesn't work though! The Jesus portrayed in the bible didn't follow the letter of the law. He was patient and tolerant.
Well hope that you find happiness and peace in whatever path you choose. I'm still looking and learning, which I think is why we are here on the earth.
Take care

North Carolina Survivors of ICE STORM 2002

So sorry Xandria :(
I know that so many are having to rough it now. My heart goes out to all those having to deal with this. I feel so bad for the elderly that you mention...it's so awful to think of these people who are so helpless going without food.
My sister's power finally got turned back on today. She lives down in the southern part of the state in Tryon, NC. I thank God everyday that we were so fortunate...I know we were among the lucky.
Take care of yourself and let us know if you make the news :)

I fought the stairs and the stairs won...
by Trauma_Hound inif i seem out of it, for the next few days, it's because i fell down a flight of stairs, slipped on the carpeted stairs in my bare feet, and broke my tail bone, and split a toe open, and had to have stitches.
so i'm on heavey narcotics, and if you need to get ahold of me in any amount of time, then a phone call is the best bet.
ciao for now.

Hey Xandria,
So sorry about your power loss. Luckily we never lost ours, flickered on and off but stayed on. Trees were down all over the place though. One lady here in Greensboro died after she and her huband ran their generator inside their house. THe husband is fine but they don't know if their 14 year old daughter will live or not. They are treating her in a hyperbaric chamber to try to get oxygen back into her cells. Here are a few pics I snapped of our place right after the storm:
