No..it's not the first time she's acknowledged it. But she's been so back and forth lately about the JW's (just this week she's started back going to ALL the meetings), I was wondering if she would this year.

Questions From Readers: Hunting/Fishing
by inkling in.
i guess this means you can maim and kill animals all you want, just so long as you don't enjoy it too much.. sorta like being a isrealite warrior who makes a living killing people but yet is commanded to "hate violence".
[inkling].

I agree with Gopher...they have a whole page for this? Do they have to ask the society for permission to do every single thing? I think most JW's don't ask themselves "What would Jesus Do"....they ask themselves "What would the society do".

I understand completely...that's why I keep coming here. I have some very good friends who know my story with my rommate but I don't think they really understand what I have to deal with on a day to day basis.
I feel for you about your father...I wish he would see that each day that passes is a day that is lost for the two of you to share. I lost my father in 1990...he was only 52. I'd give anything to see him again. Your father is still alive...but it's almost like you don't have him like I don't have mine. (((hugs)))
I think I'll have a glass of wine on that one.

This is the day you were born...
by Princess Daisy Boo inso this is the day that princess daisy boo entered the world, 30 years ago.. last night, my mom called and in the course of the conversation she say something along the lines of " thirty years ago today i was in labour - how does it feel to be almost 30... and then carried on about something random.
so my question to you all is this... how do your dub family or friends acknowledge your birthday, or do they?

I turn 44 tomorrow. I wonder if my roomie will wish me a happy bday. She cooked a bday dinner for a non-JW friend of hers less than a month ago. But this week she has started going back to meetings and she probably has decided not to acknowledge mine. We'll see.

A couple of nights ago my roomie gave me a dvd to play. She said it was from her sisters. Well I jump up and put in the dvd thinking it was from her physical sisters (they are all hotties). Much to my dismay is was from her spiritual sisters and it was a talk about not leaving Jehovah's table. So I sat there an listened to it. In the talk he said we are all not perfect and probably think that we are not worthy of sitting at the table, but not to leave. He kept saying "Just stay at the table". The example he gave was at King David's table and the crippled dude (I don't remember his name and couldn't pronounce it anyway) who came in to eat and saw all the beautiful people there. You all have probably heard this talk before...but it was a first for me. I thought what hypocrites...they are constantly kicking people away from the table.
