My father died of colon cancer at age 52 almost 17 years ago. I had my first colonoscopy when I was 40. They found a polyp (the kind that can change to cancer) so I had another colonoscopy last year at age 42. Everything was clear so it will problably be 3 years before I have to have another. The test is really not bad at all (the morphine is great), but the day before is kind of bad doing the prep. My father suffered terribly....I don't want to ever go through what he did. When I was 40 I had to demand that I get tested (my dr. said that just because my father had it does not mean there is a family history because no one else had it). Now since they found the first polyp, my Dr. said I will never go more than 5 years without having a colonoscopy.

Lets TALK COLON CANCER (join in)
by DannyHaszard insaid to be the #2 cancer killer in the west pre-cancer growths start out very slowly takes years to evolve,but good news,as the colon/large bowel has an egress to facilitate exams and most cancers occur in the last end of the pipe the rectum so it's easy to detect.
almost a taboo topic,it seems anything goes with explicit talk of sexual matters but folks are squeamish when discussing bm (bowel movements) as a 28 year patient ravaged with a diseased bowel from the auto immune disease ulcerative colitis i have lost my bashfulness.
i have had countless colonoscopy .they can make you so relaxed with a little morphine that i once fell asleep.

when i was coming back through enterprise, i stopped to eat lunch and the tornado crossed the highway about a quarter mile from me.
i was about to leave and walked outside and looked up and you could see it coming.

I work about 15 minutes from Enterprise, Ala. I had taken my JW roommate to the Greyhound station in Dothan so she could go home for a week (she has epilepsy and can't drive). When I was coming back through Enterprise, I stopped to eat lunch and the tornado crossed the highway about a quarter mile from me. I was about to leave and walked outside and looked up and you could see it coming. I ran back inside and everyone got in the hallway going to the restrooms. I keep hearing at least 5 - 8 students were killed at Enterprise High School. It's a sad day in Lower Alabama.

On Cops tonight

i think that the second half-hour has a segment that i watched before.
in the segment a prostitute is questioned by a police officer.

I gave my roommate the letter about the Watchtower changes

i think she believes me because i have never told her anything regarding the jw's that wasn't true.
she really didn't have anything to say about it, and i didn't question her.

At the 2 day thingy my roommate went to a few weeks ago, a 10 yr old got dunked. I asked her if she thought it was okay for someone so young to be baptised into the JW's. She said she thought it was as long as they had been in the truth all their life...that they should know what they are getting into. But she thought a 6 yr old would be too young.

I think she missed one bookstudy this month, but not a TMS meeting (but I'm not completely sure). I am going to print out the letter and let her read it.

She got real quiet when I told her this. She doesn't really like the fact that I read this message board but I told her I was addicted to it just like she was addicted to the Watchtower LOL.. I'm kind of glad that maybe they haven't announced it yet...maybe they will this week and she'll see that I'm telling the truth. I think I'll print the copy of the letter to be read that someone else posted and let her read it tonight. Do you all think that's a good idea?
