Either we come across the information by accident and continue to watch/read/listen to it with baited breath, OR we get to the point of actually actively seeking info even though we know we could be considering "apostate" literature. Either way, it is our hunger for the truth that leads us to it - which just happens to be the most damndest ironic thing I have experienced in my life.

i think people forget that satan was a creation of god, just like all of us and everything else.

obviously god had a purpose in creating satan.

god has love for everyone and everything, including satan.

hello everyone, i know that many here like me have read ray's book crisis of consience, i was very impressed with it, it helped open my eyes to the hypocrisy and double standards of the wts, and ray gave me the impresion of being a very loving and kind man, not the demonized apostate we were all lead to believe.

but, i noticed something that wasn't quite correct when i was reading the part that spoke of then brother rene vazquez, he makes it seem like all rene did was have private conversations with ray and nothing else, this is not true, i for a fact know that this was not all that happened.

in a ms meeting on tuesday back in 1980, rene was conducting a part and he went up to the stage with only his bible, he started saying that all we needed was the bible, that we would no longer be using other publications by the wts .

Also, as wrong as the WTS often is, they are not always wrong.

No...just most of the time.

Guess the UN/NGO affair wasn't a big enough scandal. Maybe if the GB pulled a 'full monty" on the sidewalk in front of HQ? Then again, the dubs might just say the ol' poops had a "senior" moment.

making 1914 crumble

there are plenty of threads already about chronology, babylonian kings, egyptian kings, median and persian kings, there is also lots of information available about old bible-students and jw literature.

even a simplified chronology including "fallen baby" and "evil duck" is available somewhere on this site.

Very interesting too that one of my all time favourite society books was 'Commentary on the letter of James' and if I was down I used to get it out to study.. now I find the brother that wrote it was disfellowshipped for apostasy!!

One of the many publications that have been twisted and tweaked. Originally written prinicipally by Ed Dunlap, it was later "revised" by certain GB members who objected to certain passages in the book. Incidentally, according to Ray Franz, hundreds of thousands of these "original" Commentary books were printed and then destroyed before getting into the hands of most R&F JWs. Versions appearing after these "originals" were the "revised" editions.

Take note, also, of a substantial change in the wording of a crucial sentence in the January 1, 1989 Watchtower on page 12. In the SINGLE COPY issue, the last sentence of the paragraph relating the apostle Paul's preaching activity reads, "He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our twentieth century." Notice how the same sentence reads in the January 1, 1989 BOUND VOLUME, "He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our day." A small (only a couple of words) but certainly significant change.

This has continued on, unabated, from the time of Russell. Greendawn expressed it best:

Were the "Pioneers" in your hall treated with favoritism by the Elders?

it seems that all of the parts on the theocratic ministry school were given by the pioneers in my old hall.

also the elders were always complemented on how "sister pioneer" is so zealous and loves jehovah.

as if sister not pioneering hated jehovah.
