Elders sat in stunned silence as they read the Paul Hoeffel letter from the UN which acknowledged the WBTS role as an NGO associated with the UN. After they were done, the reaction was: "Someone at Bethel must have made a mistake. We'll just have to wait on Jehovah for it to be corrected. BTW, you still believe that this is God's organization, don't you?" A "heads up" for anyone who's still a JW out there...a "no" answer to this question seals your fate. So if you're planning on being truthful (with "no" for an answer), have your bags packed.

What has been your response with telling "devout" JW's about the UN scandal
by booker-t ini was talking to a elderly jw's lady at the donut shop the other day and i brought up the un and the wt scandal.
this woman told me that i was lying and that jw's leaders would never be apart of a "satanic" org as the un.
she said that "apostates" are spreading vivious lies about jw's and are only telling half truths.

Freemasonry, Illuminati, JW, NWO and all of that ...
by zagor ini've seen upsurge of interest toward freemasonry, illuminati, new world order conspiracy theories being thrown back 'n forth on this and other forums.
so i think it is in place to cool down a bit and review things from rational rather than imaginary perspective.
there is no doubt in my mind that we (public) do not know everything that goes behind the screen and that there are powerful lobbyists groups around.

Which do YOU do.....play by the Witnesses Rules....or by YOUR own Rules?
by gumby insome of us here remember threads about how some here have decided not to play by dub rules in the area of shunning.
for instance.....they say "since the borg is a bogus religion and since it's shunning policies are not biblically nor morally based in most cases, they fell they should freely speak to other jehovahs witnesses whenever they wish even though they know the witnesses are to shun them when approched or contacted by them.
they feel they do not need to play by dub standards when around a dub any longer and one reason is.....they do not want the dub to feel that you think they are right and you are wrong by playing the part of a shunned person.

I s'pose it should be asked, do you WANT to speak to anyone who's shunning you?
Well, do you?
I always look for an opportunity to "witness" to those without the truth.

by VM44 injust a few days ago someone posted here a very good quote from the 1984 survival into a new earth book.

Here's one from the You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth book:
Page 154, paragraph 8 states: After drawing attention to the many things that have marked the period from 1914 onward, Jesus said: "This generation will by no means pass away until all these things [including the end of this system] occur." (Matthew 24:34, 14) Which generation did Jesus mean? He meant the generation of people who were living in 1914. Those persons yet remaining of that generation are now very old. However, some of them will still be alive to see the end of this wicked system. So of this we can be certain: Shortly now there will be a sudden end to all wickedness and wicked people at Armageddon.

The Ten Commandments Displays furor, why?
by AlmostAtheist ini heard on npr today that some public buildings in the u.s. are moving to bring a display of the ten commandments in through the backdoor, calling it a historical document and presenting it alongside the magna carta and the constitution.. ok. but why?.
80% of the ten commandments aren't reflected in our legal code.
when was the last time you heard of someone getting busted for coveting?

I truly feel that there is nothing wrong with having the Ten Commandments displayed anywhere.......Imagine how much better the world would be if we all followed them.........
Or, for an alternative:
Imagine
by John LennonImagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people,
Living for today...Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people,
Living life in peace...
Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people,
Sharing all the world...You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one. -

My JW client!!!
by diamondblue1974 inwithout disclosing who or where, i have a jw client who is pursuing an unfair dismissal claim and i have today managed to negotiate a hefty settlement in respect of his dispute (he was actually quite wronged to a degree).
he obviously doesnt know i post here because i dont suppose he would mix with apostates (even though i have done some good work for him).
so i presented the offer to him and some advice as to whether or not he should accept the offer and largely its a commercial decision he faces; does he carry on and continue to incur fees or does he settle now for a decent sum and cut his losses; you can imagine the scenario.
