  one researcher wrote to us asking if we knew where he could find the "originals" of the overland monthly in order to do some research.

  we wrote back to him and sent him the links to the originals and thought other researchers might want these links also.

  Seems that Pastor Russell was a very popular figure at the time he was asked, by the editor, to write articles for the Overland Monthly in 1908. He started off with a series on "The Divine Purpose", and continued contributing articles until his death in 1916. The editor may or may not have had an interest in Russell's message, but he could certainly recognize the importance of having such a well-known personage writing for his periodical. I believe Russell's Overland articles were particular to that publication.

  has anyone else ever noticed that there is no watchtower in scripture as part of any particular teaching but there is prominent use of watchtower in dungeons and dragons type games and forms of witchcraft including spells involving watchtower?

  That having been said he showed ignorance and avoidance of Freemasonry, for whatever reason.

  I don't think ol' Charlie T. was ignorant of Freemasonry because he states in his sermon "Who May Know God's Secrets" the following: "As in some secret societies there are different steps or grades---for instance, all Masons are familiar with the secrets pertaining to the first degree yet not all Masons are familiar with the secrets, etc., pertaining to the thirty-second degree, so in God's Secret Order there are first principles of the doctrines of Christ which must be known to all who belong to the order, and are also "deep things of God," which may be known only to those who have made advancement by growth in grace and knowledge and love."

  2007 Masters - anyone watching?

  tiger woods finished the day with a +3, and when he walked off the 18th, there were a dozen or so in front of him, or had potential to be in front of him.

  there was virtually no chance at first glance that he would end up in the final pairing for sunday.

  the entire field came back to meet or fall behind him, except the aussie, stuart appleby at +2.

  my story: i have been brought up in a catholic family, but the religion was never important in my familiy.

  I would like to study about religion more, I think it is a fascinating topic, but my "theocratic career" as a member of an organized religion has finished.

  i've been writing down russell's chronology (no, i don't believe a word of it).

  he had 539 ad to 1799 ad as 1,260 "days.

  " 1799 ad (the pope had to go to napolean; the ability for the papacy to persecute was waning) to 1914 ad was the end times period.

  The fall of the Ostrogothic monarchy occurred in 539 A.D. If you add 1,260 years to 539 it equals 1799, the beginning of the time of the end according to Russell. Just another "rabbit out of the hat".
