We thank you lord for the carpets and windows of this Kingdom Hall, we thank you for making that sister slap the sh*t out of his son to make him stop crying, we thank you for this microphone, we thank you for the fire that burned the baptist church down the road, we thank you for the brothers in Malaysia that have foregone a kingdom hall so that we can have air conditioner on ours...

Public talk over time
by ballistic inan old age bethelite elder gives a special public talk at a kingdom hall and rambles on for some time.
after two hours, he mumbles, "sorry if i have gone over-time but i left my watch at home.
" an over-zealous ministerial servant in the front row stands up and says, "it's ok, there's a calendar behind you!

I'm having a hell of time catching up with all the accents here in Texas. I'm form Puerto Rico, so I have my own little accent, but I work with mexicans and rednecks, plus, were I live i'm surrounded by Koreans and Indians (not injuns, but people form India). At least I have the 'y'all' down to a 't'. Later pardners, I'm going to eat some 'taters.

LOL...Oh those 15 minute long prayers at the end of the last day of the assembly. You're tired, hungry, tired of being in a tie and suit or the ladies in high heels. You just want to go and the guy won't stop praying. It's llike they're doing it in purpose just to *f* with you. AAARGGGH!!! BY the end of that prayer I was doing my own little prayer, asking for the brother to fall dead on that platform...and that's when I said 'Amen". I'm evil, I know.

I took the "1914 Generation" prophecy seriously. Did you?
by nicolaou ini was born in 1964, a convenient 50 years after 1914. even in my early teens i was doing the sums.
i had a worse case scenario figured out - if the 1914 generation could apply to babies and even if they lived to be a 120, i would still only be about 70 years old after they'd all died!
i figured that i was part of the first wave of 'jehovah's people' that really would live to see the new order - guaranteed!!

20 years I spent in that god-forsaken organization, and not one thing I took seriously about it, never, ever, never...

I never had real fear of Armageddon or Demons or even Jehovah himself. But I was terrified to go in the service in my neighborhood and having to preach to my neighbors. I remember one time we knocked in a house and it happened to be were a kid from my school lived, I didn't know this. he comes out, looks at me, looks at the sister that was with me and said: "You're a Witness? I would have never thought you were" he turned to the sister and said: "he is the craziest son-of-a-bitch at school, I would've never figure you out as a Witness". I wanted to effing die and I wanted to effing kill him too.

by filip inmy parents have noticed my negative and sad attidude lately, whenever were going to the meetings or studying and so on.
but they just think that i am negative and sad in general.
i dont think they think that its spesifically because im being dragged to the meetings.. so lately we have had a lot of "serious" talks, because theyre worried for me.

I was in your position once. I was asked directly if I was still interested in studying the bible and become a JW and instead of being honest, i said yes, and ended up wasting 20 years of my life. Remember that the more time you stay the deeper they'll drag you in, and then it will be harder for everyone. If you get asked directly, just be honest and get out. You might save yourself a lot of grief later if you go through some discomfort now. God Bless

Why did we become JW?
by BigG ini was brought up in the 'truth' for many years until i was 20 or thereabouts and now being on the outside looking in i see not only jw's for what they really are but i believe i see religion for what it really is too.. consider this point, and this reminds me of a song written by alanis morrisette entitled, forgiven which is a pretty cool stab at religion itself if you read the lyrics closely...one part of the lyrics is 'we all had our reasons to be there'.
if you came into the truth, consider the reasons why, what were the circumstances of your life...were you searching for something.
even if they were brought up in it...consider the reasons why their parents started to believe.

I was young and didn't have enough guts to get out when my 2 older brothers did...I think it was probably because of my mother. And then the more time you stay in there, the harder it is to leave. I started fading little by little and then I moved far away. Now my journey to the "Dark Side" is complete. OH, you dont know the power of the Dark Side.

From my experience, standing on a corner holding up a magazine and waiting for people to come to you, looking like a dumbass, didn't do anything but give me TIME to put down on my service report. They really don't give a flying fart for results, they just like seeing lots 'o hour on those damn little pieces of paper. Anything to keep up the illusions.
