Joe, even though I understand where you're coming from, I think a lot of people, not only on this board, but in general need to learn how to take a joke and grow a thicker skin. Life's harsh, the internet is worse...
Cheers
i have just re-read a couple of my postings - no, the apolgy is not for being narcissistic!.
i hope i have made it clear throughout my postings here that while never a jw, i have intense sympathy, empathy and concern for those who have suffered, and continue to suffer, from this bullying and corrupt (imho) quasi-religion.
i hope that on occasion an 'outsider's' view may be helpful.. .

in the jehovahs witness religion, there is a ceremony known in those circles as the memorial of christs death, or just the memorial for short.
it is claimed and believed among members that jehovahs witnesses observe the exact same ceremony that is more widely known as the lords supper among christians.
Perry: You see things how are convenient to your train of thought, or lack there of. Everything you replied is nothing more than your opinion, skewed by your beliefs, of course, because you don't know me or how I live my life and how I relate to others. Oh, and I don't need a book to tell me what's right and what's wrong. The use of reason and common sense are a much better 'guide'. Calling, what I consider freedom, 'slavery' is just another example how people like you think they know everything. How can a person be a slave to oneself?... that notion makes as much sense as being bound to man-created beliefs, contained in an ancient, men compiled book and calling it 'freedom'. That is my opinion. :)
Of course I replied to your request in the way that I see the subject, which is not my opinion, it's my life. Now please, instead of replying with mere opinions or speculations to such trivial posts like mine, I would love to read your answers to Spook and Elsewhere.

Elsewhere, you should come down to San Anto, I can get some... err... 'stuff' that will make you see 'God'!

Won't anyone please describe the goodness of it?
Not being a sucker for Fairy Tales, for one. :)
Being able to think freely
Being able to take resposibility for my own actions
Not condemning people to 'hell'/destruction because they don't 'believe' as I do
Being free from Bible/Religion induced fears and superstitions
Not butting into people's lives to tell them how to live their lives
Being able to see and appreciate people without the distorting lense of the Scriptures
Helping and loving people because I want to, not because an archaic book tells me I HAVE to
In other words, freedom. A kind of freedom that fundamentalist fanatics will never know, no matter what the storybook says.

So let's go from you 'only' possible answer... whose intelligence? Can you prove that Jehovah, YHWH, Yaweh, a.k.a. the God of the Bible is such 'intelligence'? Without using the Bible?
BTW, human logic can possibly 'debunk' anything, even if it's written (or plagiarized?) in plain black and white.
ok, now here's a question for the other side.
when you finally discovered enough information that resulted in your leaving the watchtower bible and tract society's organization, what convinced you that you just needed to replace it with a better more believanle version instead of questioning the whole concept of an invisible god?.
is it that you find the idea of no afterlife to hard to deal with?
it's a crutch Donny, that's all that it is... a crutch.

OK, so apparently to be a 'Born Again' one has to check ones brain at the door... How can there be 'knowing' without verifiable proof? I think that the Church of Kirk Cameron and the Holy Banana Peel has a hand in this!

Perry, methinks you use the phrase 'undisputable facts' a little too loosely. Given that your 'fine tuning' argument lacks any empirical proof that the Universe was actually created by one Invisible Man, you should call it 'theory' at the very least.
