New light in this weeks WT?

anybody have any ideas where they are going with the "new light" they have been pushing last week and this week?

for instance in this weeks study article one section reads:.

in years gone by, we believed that jehovah became displeased with his people because they did not have a zealous share in the preaching work during world war i. we concluded that for this reason, jehovah allowed babylon the great to take them captive for a short time.

The interesting thing in today's study is, in the 1914-1918 period, there was no "the preaching work" because there was no "the slave organization" to initiate it, because there was no "faithful slave".... till 1919.

In fact, since this whole discussion was about the time before the supposed "appointment of the slave", all these persons were just members of Christendom who were "uppity". They had no special standing from Jesus supposed standpoint because he hadn't chose anybody for anything yet. ACCORDING TO WT THEOLOGY.

And nobody can put that simple fact together.

In fact, according to WT dogma, the Master, Jesus, who "went away for a long time" left nobody in charge of "feeding the household of faith" for 2000yrs until Br. Booze.

Sure, this contradicts the illustration, but who would notice? The yucks in the pews can't see the forest for the trees. They soak it up, when they should be puking it out.

How in fact can the Watchtower magazine have any significance whatsoever when the guy who invented it was a member of Christendom. CT Russell died before the supposed 1919 slave appointment. Who the hell was he...

Why the hell would God's people want to use a rag that CT Russell named.

1919 What???

i had seen it before but never actually looked.. sure enough in july 15 2013 wt .... 17 in the past, we have stated in our publications that these last four references apply to jesus’ arriving, or coming, in 1918. as an example, take jesus’ statement about “the faithful and discreet slave.” (read matthew 24:45-47.

) we understood that the “arriving” mentioned in verse 46 was linked to the time when jesus came to inspect the spiritual condition of the anointed in 1918 and that the appointment of the slave over all the master’s belongings occurred in 1919.

The biggest problem for WT though, is that the new "slave" teaching finds Christ making his first appointment at the end of his journey.

What "master of the house" would start off on a long journey away from the estate and leave NOBODY in charge for the bulk of his absence?

...only to sneak back "invisibly" just prior to his BIG PUBLIC RETURN and appoint one house member in charge of the entire house, so that when he makes his big entry, he can pat him on the back.

It's bullshight.

Londo1112 days agoThe new light on the "slave" a few years ago was that Jesus did not yet appoint the slave "over all his belongings" yet, but when they get to heaven to join the 144000. However, they still maintain in 1919 that Jesus appointed the slave to serve food at the proper time.

The problem the Watchtower has is that the verse only mentions the 'second coming' ONCE.

Whereas, WT teaching has him coming TWICE, the first 'second coming' to 'appoint' in 1919 and another, 2'nd--second coming, (third coming) at the GT.

Even if one were to accept WT teaching that the leaders were truly appointed (barf) by Christ, there's nothing to establish 1919 or any other time.

45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave [supposed WT dudes] whom his master [Jesus] appointed [past tense] over his domestics, [everyone] to give them their food at the proper time?z46 Happy is that slave [GB] if his master [Jesus] on coming finds him doing so!a47 Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.

Skinned and Thrown About.....

this is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".

with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".

recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

Here, in our Canadian town, we have benefited from the Watchtower cuts. The Lord taketh away, and the Lord giveth dem back. 1 Recommendations 1:9

It seems that the Canadian Branch found ample reason to make deep cuts also. Due to these cuts, we have recently had some fabulously spiritual ones return to town, heads hung low and poor. One couple, still young enough to do so, restarted their life. They found sufficient work and bought a house, and they are renovating. But when you talk to them in the quiet aside, their true emotions emerge. They are disappointed. And their actions demonstrate that it's "me time"... nuff a' dem.

The sister/bro-in-law of this pair, also evicted, not doing quite as well. They have to shack down where they can at the mercy of others. Pick the bones of the economy and try to muddle along. I haven't talked to them much, but they can't be very happy. No, not with their quality of ~~life~~ struggle.

There's another couple here too. I don't know them, but I hear about their struggles too. They got the pink slip and moved here because it's supposedly cheap. Getting less cheap everyday.

I have to imagine this is a universal trend.

Not quite getting there yet. I recall one of the WT study's had an article that mentions about those who express doubts and voice them by saying that the end will not come in their lifetime.

I am looking over the articles now.

I recall the 2016 convention had a part, and I believe there was a video. As well, there was a WT study last year that talked about they who say "it's not coming in my lifetime" as being pretty well apostate.
