we lost our loving golden retriever, coach, this week.
he has been very sick and we did everything we could for him, but our last show of love for him was to have him put to sleep.
he was only 6 1/2 yrs.

i feel our generation has contributed greatly to medical advances i.e.
replacing worn out joints, etc.

Don't you mean GREEN ACRES, PETTICOAT JUNCTION, BEVERLY HILLBILLIES, ETC. Those you mentioned were in the 70's.

Your thoughts appreciated! So true. Hypocrisy with a lot; child rearing and kids running amuk. My brother was a true "hippy". Son called him by his first name and he was never disciplined - just told not to do something until the boy almost killed himself. We all cringed.
Yeah I agree on that thing in CA about notice to the parents. This world has gone crazy! Parents' rights have been taken away in a lot of incidences. Some are afraid of spanking in public in fear they'll be charged w/abuse.
A revolution was started in the 60's to be continued. Never watched '70's Show. Our kids grew up in the 70's and 80's and 90's. Even in the Org. w/all of its tight assed rules we as a family had fun and "let our hair down". So many didn't have a sense of humor. They would tell you to smile as we worship a happy God, but really it was fake as quite a few people were basically miserable.

Thanks Mouthy for your comfort. I totally agree with you about very sick humans who would like to go peacefully when they are terminal. Our vet is such a sweetheart. She first gave him Valium and Ketamine to relax him. They are in a very sleepy state, but can still hear you talking to them. Then she uses the other stuff in the vein catheter so he doesn't get poked twice and because she said she cries and then can't see too well. So it was very peaceful. Have a nice weekend. juni :)
Hi Happy Dad, Thanks for your message. Goldens are very loving and love to be with you. I haven't met a naughty one yet or one that doesn't like to go for car rides! Being that we're in our late 50's a smaller dog would probably work out better for us for bathing, etc. But we could very well settle on a female golden this time as the males are larger. We'll wait and see for now. This is the first time in 23 yrs. that we haven't had a dog. So no furry friend to greet you or there to have you caress their fur.
