  It's been nice getting to know each of you better. We all have our stories to tell don't we?

  I'm sorry Sandra to hear your sad story. But you are a survivor and are living a happy life now. That's wonderful to hear!!! Towanda! Have you seen the movie, "Fried Green Tomatoes"? I'm 58 so I've got more insurance than some young chics too. LOL Remember that scene? (if you saw the movie) stars Kathy Bates - a very touching and funny movie.

  Sandra? I took 7 years of French. Was invited to Chicago to work in the French pop. to witness, but became pg and was too sick w/morning sickness to go w/the pioneers.

  Bonnie-Clyde - I remember shorthand! Stunk at it cause I'm left handed and couldn't get the slant right and the teacher was as old as Methuselah and didn't think anyone should stay a lefty. LOL

  Mary you are stunning! Good for you going back to get your degree. Maybe you'll write a Broadway play some day and some of us can say, "We know her! The percocet and wine poster at JWD!" LOL

  DJK said that he takes studying more seriously now than when younger. I really believe that is true. Comes w/maturity and not wondering who's stealing whose boyfriend, etc. and all of that high school mentality... LOL

  I was friends with everyone. Didn't consider myself a part of any group. Graduated with a 3.0, but never went on for higher education. Graduated in 1967. Got married. Worked as a secretary and then started a family and then became a floral designer.

  Edited to say: This came to mind because my high school in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin is having our 40th reunion this month.

  These different points you made show what happens when man goes beyond what is written in Scripture.

  Burdens are heaped upon people for control....... the Scriptures lay out principles to be followed.

  It's hard for me to read what they say/write because it is so far from the truth of what a loving god would want from human beings. They portray god as one who will never be satisfied with any devotion or to clarify that statement - if you're "lucky" (excuse me for sinning here) - he just may feel you "did" enough..... and they are the ones to determine if your "works" are valuable to god.

  ok, all you lovely people,.

  so it's been a year now since mrs h and i went our seperate ways, and even though there are people on the boards that i've come to love very much i've started having a tic in one eye whenever i see a presentable lady in real life.

  i guess that means that i maybe ready to start looking for some female companionship.. thing is, it''s been over 20 years since i last went on 'the pull', and i'm a bit rusty these days.

  personally, i would like to have the choice to end my life if i chose to do so and see nothing wrong with having a professional help me with it.

  i have watched several people die and to me it's just plain cruel to put someone through that.

  we would never think of letting an animal suffer like that but yet some people in this country think they need to jail a person willing to help speed up the process.

  my husband and i were just wondering.......if a son, who is a jw, inherits a large sum of money from his non-jw parents, is he required by his kh or the wts to give a portion to them??.

  KOOL-AID.. Need info please

  okay, here goes.... i've seen many many many references to kool-aid here, such as "don't drink the kool-aid" etc etc but i can't work out what it's all about.. but, my imagination tells me that maybe someone went to a memorial meal, "partook of the emblems" and discovered that it wasn't wine, but kool-aid.. am i right or is there something else going on?.
