  just to let you know, the recent storms in the gulf coast of the southern us are well known in iraq.

  in fact, mosque messages in town are saying that the storms are punishment from god for the occupation of iraq.

  Hi troucul!

  Thanks for your pm. It's good to hear from you - an accurate source - (not slanted media) what the feelings of the Iraqi people are. I truly don't feel that these natural disasters are signs from God or a punishment for certain people. There was an older sister at the Hall once that said to me after I had our little girl who had no health problems comparing her to another sister's little girl who did have health problems - "Isn't it amazing how Jehovah watches over those who are faithful." Mind you this other sister was a faithful sister in the org. too. I asked the older sister how she could ever think such a thing. This was a very unloving remark and she needed to think about what she had said. Can't remember the outcome as too many years ago.

  I just get sick to my stomach when I reflect back on so many unloving, judgmental remarks made to people. The Iraqi people need to be able to live in freedom and enjoy their lives on this earth. Will it ever happen? I really don't know.

  well, i came across a book called "animal attraction" about 5 years ago.

  it is a personality test which pegs you as a particular animal.

  at local level elders encouraged members to not talk so much about the hurricanes and the hardships they have made for so many as this kind of talk is not upbuilding.

  people are only supposed to have enough knowledge about it so as to be able to lead into a presentation at the door.

  Maybe they are afraid that the dubs will find out how real Christians are helping victims of these disasters and begin to question WTBTS directions on donating, charity and relief efforts in general. That was my thought too, Honesty. Thanks. Juni

At local level elders encouraged members to not talk SO MUCH about the hurricanes and the hardships they have made for so many as this kind of talk is not upbuilding. People are only supposed to have enough knowledge about it so as to be able to lead into a presentation at the door. It is not supposed to be a topic of discussion at the Hall, in service, or in car groups.

  Has anyone else received this admonition? Again, is this a local level speech?

  QUESTION ABOUT LITERATURE HAND OUTS AT HALL

  i would really appreciate help with this question.

  a friend said that he noticed that they are stingy about handing out literature (also tracts) at the literature counter.

  would only give out 4/5 tracts to a sister who has ms for her at home witnessing work.

  Disfellowshipped for being fat and not watching my cholesterol

  i find the concept of taking select warnings of the medical and science world, to disfellowship members, and ignoring others ... all the more interesting as i think about it.

  after all, heart desease is the biggest killer in the americas.

  heart desease and heart related deaths are often linked to and not exclusive to; obesity, high cholesterol, fatty foods, not exercising, high stress, etc.. with this in mind, i dare someone to call an elder and report that they saw one of the local witnesses eating at mcdonalds, even though the doctor warned them it could kill them.

  Elders wives, are they more submissive?

  i know an elder (hermann) who is so fat and out of shape that his wife has to mow the lawn and shovel the entrance.

  she also works hard inside to make his food and keep everything clean.

  he is 73 and she is 70.. i wonder what verse he uses to make her do so much?

  This was turning into a nasty cat fight a bit ago. From my experience, some elders' wives are VERY submissive to an extreme and others are b*****. A lot are gossipers. Some set good examples and others don't. Pretty much like in the "world". Juni Breeze ~~~~~~~~~~

  Welcome to a place where you will find friends who truly know what you've been through. Yes. I also feel fibromyalgia and depression are common illnesses w/Witnesses. Those who have left and also those that are still in experience these illnesses. Everyone handles pressure differently. I personally suffer from both. Fibromyalgia is better as I am on anti-anxiety meds, but depending on the stress level determines how bad I feel. Juni Breeze
