  many years ago i remember suddenly how the bible study servant who was third in command got removed from his position, and was reproved for having a fling with his bible student who was much younger and very married too.

  actually, her husband came in the hall while he was substuting as a watchtower conductor and i was reading and screamed all sorts of profanities to him all the while screaming that he was "f***king his wife"!

  when the man told him, "i wanna talk to you", the elder said, "not now".

  Pagan Popcorn!

  if jws consider birthdays, christmas, and so forth pagan because of their origins, then perhaps jws shoud stop eating popcorn!.

  Yeah. I remember going out on these special days like a good little JW, but deep down it went against my personal feelings. I didn't want to bother these folks on their special family days. It was: can't we leave these poor people alone w/their families uninterrupted? Juni :)

  Yep. Men look for small fingered male drs. My son in law wants a tatoo on his backside that says DO NOT ENTER. Us women go through so much down there. Men get all freaky. I say they have the second baby and then maybe we wouldn't have the over population problem in the world. Can you imagine if men had monthly periods? I shutter to think. Juni :)

  Hi Atlantis!

  Very interesting research! Like I've said all along, you can find something "wrong" with everything. But if they're going to be consistent they should outlaw popcorn. I wonder how many would follow that one? Yissssshhhhhhhhhhhh Juni :)

  Thanks for your PM. I will get back to you.

  As for your postings, I appreciate your high moral ground and honesty. I know we all like to get silly and sometimes go a little crazy w/some subjects, but I was made aware by some that we now feel comfortable in expressing ourselves w/o judgement. It's wonderful and a big relief to have our feelings validated and our questions answered whereas while in the org. you were to shut up and get in line.

  So with that being said, continue to post your questions and thoughts. I see your 50. I'm 56. Close enough to appreciate the age factor and what it brings. From what we were told in the org. I never thought I would reach this age, my children all grown and I have 7 grandchildren. I am concerned what the future holds for them.

  i've decided to put out this topic for some fun after i posted at the simon and garfunkel topic.. anything you want to say on whatever subject: music, movies, life, work, what did our generaton contribute to society, family, grandchildren, your body now heading south, baldness, acceptance of ourselves and shortcomings, more tolerant (or too tired to care?)..

  i feel our generation has contributed greatly to medical advances i.e.

  replacing worn out joints, etc.

  The fact that you are sitting in front of your computer and enjoying who knows what all technology has brought to you all came about due to the space program. I remember our school computer in jr. high filled a whole room.

  Good evening to all of you guys!

  I'm really enjoying your memories and can relate to 99% of them. Cherry Cokes w/real cherry juice! yummy and the outdoor movies - that was great! Remember the lousy liquid foundation back then that turned your face orange? Stockings w/garter belts (no panty hose). The "beehive" hairdo for the prom. Hated the style. My friend would wrap her head w/toilet paper to preserve the style for the next week. Yuck! The ' 60s "flip" hairstyle. I wore mine long and flipped up. The wooden floors in study hall? The "hoods" (tough guys) would wear cleats on their shoes and would always make grand entrances and exits. Usually 1 or 2 girls that would disappear during the school year as they were pg. Divorce was pretty rare or not talked about. Remember the school nurses? What a joke. Good way to get out of class. Sex education classes? Another joke.

  WE JUST LOST OUR DEAR GOLDEN BOY

  we lost our loving golden retriever, coach, this week.

  he has been very sick and we did everything we could for him, but our last show of love for him was to have him put to sleep.

  he was only 6 1/2 yrs.

  i had mentioned that i was raised in a jw family and we got to talking.. quite an interesting exchange of information.

  when i brought up the pedophile problem in the jw's and the lack of action to make changes to protect the children, he told me that the pentacostal religious leaders required that each church and the preacher in charge had to have insurance and how expensive it was.. also that the insurance companies required certain things be changed and followed.

  all the rooms that would be used for or by children had to have glass doors.

  Personally that's why I have no use for any religions; they are all man-made w/their own rules and hypocrisies. I believe in being a spiritual person in which case you will show love to your neighbor not because it is a tenet but because it comes from your heart.
