  Just talked to Witnesses at my door for Hour about Watchtower Child Abuse

  it happened again like in july when i talked to an elder and his wife about child abuse, but this time i got a hold of rank and file members who fortunately i was able to play like a fiddle as they had no idea what they were up against here.

  so brother middle age ex-hippie convert ( as he told me later ) and sister middle age hair in a bun offered me the awake on death or our view of death.

  i graciously accepted gaining their trust saying yes, i had close loved ones who had died over the years but didn't know if i believed in a resurrection or hereafter.

  A question about Isaac Newton

  i don't want to start rumors, but i recall a time when i was a kid and was paging through some old bound volumes.

  i came across an article about isaac newton that discussed his interest in religion and how he didn't believe in the trinity.

  my memory is kind of fuzzy, but i seem to recall that there was a statement that indicated he may have been of the anointed.

  hey DT.. welcome.

  I was baptized in ' 71 and do remember that statement about Isaac Newton not believing in the Trinity. I don't recall him being called an "anointed" one. Be patient. I'm sure someone here will have an answer for you.

  i've been attempting to infiltrate my friend's christmas traditions in an attempt to understand and appreciate the holiday.

  i only had christmas until i was 5 when my mom converted to jw.

  before that, christmas was really big in our house.

  JW events like District Conventions™, Circuit Assemblies™, Special Assembly Days™, CO Visits™, etc. served a similar purpose as traditional holidays, in that they are designed to bring people together. The difference being that the focus is not on the family (as it should be with holiday traditions) but on promoting the JW ideology. In that way these JW events serve as surrogates for normal family traditional gatherings. While normal family traditional gatherings have the effect of strengthening family bonds, WTS events usurp that natural inclination and use it as a means of strengthening loyalty to the WTS, even over blood ties

  also their loved ones and caregivers.. - has been fighting mantle cell lymphoma for three years.

  he received an allogeneic cell transplant and his latest blood and bone marrow results have shown no trace of cancer!!

  Mountain sleigh ride

  every christmas i take my wife and daughter up to leavenworth which is a small bavarian themed town in the middle of the cascade mountains.

  ten miles north of the town is eagle creek ranch which has sleigh rides.

  it was 20 deg (f) with a slight north breeze that made it feel much colder.

  in the congregatin I attended? only kingdom melodies were acceptable... and perhaps a little Liberace or '40s music.. wonder why?
