When I was in Bethel Don Adams always wore sandals instead of shoes. In '73 this was unusual. Always wondered if it was a foot problem or a fashion statement.

I sat at his table for a short time in '73 in the Squibb building. Lets see: green tie (bright) with red plaid shirt and brown wool pants. Some times talked to his shoes. Liked to listen to the bongo's played by a brother named Willy (he was in the press room with me). Liked his wine, a lot. When you talked to him you got the impression he was not listening but was in his own world. Never and I mean NEVER argue with him, I saw what happened to someone else. Very few people could talk to him so as to make a "point", one was Charlie Feckle (my old friend).

The only problem is that in order to recieve retirement from the miltary you have to agree to defend the country and put the uniform on again if called. So here the elder is preaching the "good news of the WTBS" all the while agreeing to the retirement conditions. What do we call this? Oh by the way I have seen elders counsel brothers who had a gov contract to mow the lawn at a base all the while the elder was retired miltary!

Apostate Presentations
by Londo111 inthe watchtower often gives jws examples of presentations to householders.
something like, many people believe in miracles.
others are skeptical.

That's great! The 30 sec. presentation that I thought of would start out about John 17:16. I would ask: Should someone teach their own opinion? Then I would show them John 17:16...........He that speaks of his own originality is seeking his own glory ; but he that seeks the glory of him that sent him, this one is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him. " . Do you think the WTBTS teaches their own opinion? How about the generation thing? or 1975? At this point pull out the old Make Sure book (ouch!) and review some of the crazy teachings. As a real hoot show them what a creative day is (ouch!) After all the wierd beliefs ask the witness; Who's opinion were these teachings? Did it come from Jehovah? Then what authority did they have for teaching the things in the Make Sure book? "Because they were anointed? Who told you they were anointed? They did? Who told you they were gods "governing body"? They did?

No bibles at any kingdomhalls, strong rumors the annual meeting is regarding the bible...
by EndofMysteries infrom relatives and contacts in 2 states, there have been no bibles available for a couple months.
one person mentioned to me as well about supposed quotes in the magazines from other bibles.
rumors are that they will announce a new bible, or possibly tell everyone to buy a bible from another place that they approve of.

Just got the hot news!......................Their adding some new books to the bible!!!! The book of Franz, Rutherford and Jaraz. Lots of parables and time tables for our modern time. This should prove great reading when the weather is bad and you have nothing to do. The book study will be restarted so as to review these books. A written test will be given every six weeks and those that don't pass will anounced from the platform.

by AuntConnie intold my husband to put a muzzle on my mouth over the blood dogma.
we all were driving around in field service when the topic of "which fragments would you take if you were in a car accident or cut yourself badly".
said his choice is a personal one, another sister with chronic health problems said she had no problem with the governing body's new light on taking various fragments.
