she's a strong trinitian christian, and is really good with the bible.

Sorry, I need to vent for a moment...
by Abandoned innormally, i don't mind where i'm at in my life.
i'm forty, no kids, low-paying job, live in a trailer court, etc (and trust me there's more to the etc, then i've already mentioned), but today i had a hard time.. one of my best friends from high school was a big dope head (no offense to the dope heads out there).
he showed up nearly every day to our first period art class smelling of weed and was generally so whacked out of his mind that he got horrible grades.. he finally graduated - barely - and made it to college.

Rule number one: Don't feel sorry for yourself.
Rule number two: Dont't look back
Rule number three: Learn from your mistakes and take responsibility ( tough but you can do this)
Rule number four: Make your own luck ( I could write a book about this)
Rule number five: Its not how much you make, its how you spend it ( I learned this the hard way)
Rule number six: Have a plan. ( those that don't have a plan, plan on failing)

NEW Theology and Cult Blog

it's called theodyssey.
we'll be writing a lot about jehovah's witnesses, the watchtower society, and theology in general.

Just once I would LOVE to hear...
by Justice-One inyou know just once i would have loved to hear a brother raise his hand and speak what most or at least quite a few must have been thinking.
for instance i was there when they changed the meaning of "generation.
" i would have dearly loved to have had enough nerve to raise my hand and say something like...."please don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.

Just tell your wife that a religion that has all the answers ......allows no questions! Keep in mind that most prople in the borg view the religion as an insurance policy and therefore the WTBS can get away with what ever they please.

Theocratic Pornography
by mann377 injust some thoughs after reading the past wt's and reviewing the last assembly with a friend.
it still amazes me how the wtbs gets away with the absolute foolishness of their beliefs.
the only plausible explaination that i could come up with is that it is like porn (spritural nudity) such that the dubs are now addicted to.

I know much has been written on the board here as to the reasons for ones involvement in this crazy religion. It has been over 20 years since my total involvement with the dubs but thank god I'm free. I still recieve the magazines (from relatives) and refering to these as religious porn is the most appropriate discription.

Met with the C.O., and need help with 1975
by OnTheWayOut inhere is a quick summary, in august i turned in an elder resignation letter stating that i could not teach doctrine from the governing body because i did not "know" them at all, and i had doubts.
when asked by the elders, i said the doubts spring from this generation and 1975. the elders took no action, waiting for mother to tell them what to do.
would want to talk to me on his visit.. this week, our c.o.

You don't study by answering their questions. You study by asking "leading questions" to get them to thinking. Pretend to make progress and be be very accommodating, never confrontational. Go out of your way to be social with any friends that you have in the borg. This will drive the CO crazy.
