gaslighting is a form of sustained manipulation that causes the victim to question or doubt their sanity, judgment and memories.

it’s a form of emotional abuse.

i think jehovah’s witnesses have been gaslit.

Just a note on Knorr. He was a businessman foremost. He did not have that deep of Bible knowledge. His talks were written by someone else. His ego was big, very big. You have to understand his Penn Dutch background when talking to him. He would stop by my press at Watchtower Farm ever Wednesday morning when he came up. I knew his family (inlaws, etc.) learned a lot about him. Also learned a lot about him and Franz from Bud Sullivan (retired head of service depart) when I sat next to him at the table (at the farm)

When speaking of gaslighting and the WTBS you need need to realize all cults use this MO on the people.

saw this article today and pleased to see the information presented.

it does not mention the borg which is good in that it would not turn off any dubs that might come across it.

the info is not new to us on the forum but any loyal dubs that read it might identify with the action of a cult and start to think (i would hope).

so the new biden/harris gun policies are starting to appear.

it’s not clear yet, what they will be.. some suggestions; confiscate all guns.------buyback programs in each state.. there is much talk on social media that if this happens, the pandemic, + all the riots, + all the damaged property, + all the annual murders in america, - put together-will be like a sunday afternoon picnic, compared to all the deaths and property damage that will result because of “civil uprising” by millions of 2nd amendments advocates and just plain gun lovers.

I knew Charlie Fekel back in '72-73. He was on the GB. I sat next to him at the table and went shopping with him on occasion. And I must say he was good man. Nothing like what I see today. He was truly humble.

Reel to reel tapes and old Watchtower literature

it's been an emotional few weeks going through old watchtower literature, i mean old.

i have saved many things, some you have never seen.

particularly related to 1975, i have wts literature, even a big newspaper article about the 1975 prediction.. today, i started going through the reel to reel tapes.

I have to laugh when I hear the "brothers" say it was the persons fault for great expatiation's in 75. What the "brothers" don't know is that I was the press operator for the awake magazine from 74-76. If you have any old copies I printed them. I could tell stories that would make you double over. How about the congregation in Texas that ordered 12,000 copies of an issue of Awake in '74. Always wonder what happened to them.

Why the change?

possible cancelling the memorial after years of experiences of bro/sis under nazi , communist oppression and many other countries still conducting the memorial under threat of death that the governing body is listening to the superior authorities regarding this virus pandemic.. could it be that after taking control of the k/halls that the branch/governing body would be responsible for any disobedience to the civil authorities and liable for any deaths.. they would have left upto the local body of elders and encouraged obedience to god rather than men and a lack of faith in jehovah to protect his people..

Amazing how far down this narcissistic path the GB has gone. Jesus is their mediator (not ours) + they inherit the earth as they are the meek (not us) + because they were selected by god ( to be the GB) in that they were anointed by him. They tell this is truth because they say so. I keep asking myself how in the world can a group of people get away with this type of BS. But it happens every day in a lot of cults.

To those of you that are on the fence in the org just remember: They can get your body, don't let them get your mind.

Were / Are the Governing Body "Rock Stars"

in 1976 when i was a young lad of 6, fred franz came to glasgow and gave a talk in govan a suburb on the south side of the city (for those of you who dont know).

our congregation hired a bus to ferry us all to the hall and it was standing room only.

being only 6, i have only the vaguest of memories other than an old man shouting and bawling from the stage.

Yeah I remember Fred Franz.......He used to go to the Spanish Congo in Brooklyn off Atlantic Ave. (1970's). I went to the Times Plaza Congo that shared the hall with the Spanish. Their meetings were after ours and I was assigned to operate the elevator to the 3rd floor. This was the were the hall was located. Several times I stopped the elevator to fast and Freddie bounced like pop corn in the elevator. Funny to watch fred get off the elevator staggering like he had been in a fight. I would help him up off the floor of the elevator and brush him off. I never could get the elevator to operate right as I had never done it before. After a few months I was assigned another duty. Once the elevator hit the springs at the bottom and continued to bounce. You should have seen Fred as he went up and down and the look he gave me would kill. I sure miss the old days.

Don Adams has passed away

i received a call from a friend in new york city that don adams passed away late last evening (30 dec 2019).

many of you bethelites know him and he was the president of the society for a number of years after the gb got out of the corporate structure business.

from what i understand, he was generally liked by many there.. some in my family knew him.

I liked Don, had him for entrance school. He had two brothers, Joel, and Carl. He always wore sandles with he's suite. Thought this was odd.
