I wonder if the ppl who are making such a tizzy about SUV 's even pump their own gas or know what the price of a gallon of gas is right now.

SUV'S Owners Support Terrorists!
by pettygrudger inyep, new campaign ad's on tv basically links the owning of an suv to the need for lots of gas, to that money going to countries that supply that gas, to the terrorists who get funding from those same countries.. so, based on this - what kind of car do you drive?
do you think that we american's have a moral or ethical responsibility to self-reduce our need for oil, and reduce just in general all the "materialistic" things in life to which we feel entitled?.
i drive a geo prizm - 35 mpg - because of our environment (and plus i'm just a cheap ass!

Nothing Hurts Like This
by JT injames: .
though i may, on more than a few occasions, have questioned whether or not i wanted to be one of jehovahs witnesses and i may at some point decide that i dont, i can assure you that i would never contact you again.
it is really unfortunate that you felt the need to post our email exchanges on jw.com because to be honest with you, i actually thought that you may have been sincerely interested in me as a person.

Hey JT:
Remeber what you've said at times dude. Keep it about the issues at hand and never make it personal. To me that seems what she's trying to make it all about now. This has nothing to do with anyone's privacy. Rather, it's about whether the Watchtower is all it makes itself out to be. The facts are on your side and ppl are gonna do what the want to do anyway. Although I know sometimes it can be hard, try not to let yourself get too involved emotionally.

Is the USA a bully?
by Robdar ini was watching the news last night.
the latest word from the war front is that we should be able to peaceably work out our differences with north korea.
as humiliating as it will be for us to kiss north korea's ass, we will do so because they do have the ability to nuke our west coast.
-
bigboi
We have to deal very cautiously with the North Koreans, because not only can they nuke our West Coast, but they can also nuke Japan and South Korea and maybe some of it's island neighbors.
It's all about risk and damage control. Go after Iraq, get rid of Saddam and you probably won't have a major destabilization of the Mid-East. If you attack N. Korea there will be a major destabilization of the Pacific region. With all the trade we have tied to China, Japan and other Pacific nations a nuclear flare up would probably have all types of costly ramifications for the US.

A new year ... a new start ...
by Simon inwell, 2002 comes to a close and it's been a busy year.. we have had over 380,000 posts!
in them we've laughed, we've cried, we've celebrated and commiserated, we've fallen out and made up and we've seen new people come and people move on.. what's to come in 2003?.
well, some changes .... the new forum is nearly ready (though i expect will never be 'finished' lol) and i think it is a good opportinity to do some things differently and make a 'fresh start'.. i have incorporated features that will allow me to give other people the chance to get involved running the site so it becomes less 'mine' and more 'ours'.
