I don't think it would hurt them in the US or Western Europe, but it would definitely have a disastrous effect on countries where they are still selling literature for a set price in field service. I think the vast majority of the publishers would stop going out in the service.

Will the WTS ever drop the reporting of time?
by TweetieBird inwhat do you think would happen if the society received "new light" and it was no longer a requirement to turn in a field service report, it is now between each publisher and jehovah what they do as far as witnessing?
personally i don't think that will ever happen because that is the only way they can maintain control over everyone in the congregation.

Oh, I fully realize that you will continue to be a racist black.
I missed this gem.
Ok, I got a question for you. Why did you zero in on my post when Corvin made a post that, according to your reasoning, also puts whites in a bad light?

Dude if you have problem with MTV and what Outkast does in their video, then write a letter to VIACOM and Arista. Don't expect me to modify my behaviour to suit your inadequecies.

Yes you were, and yes.
The fact that you can't dance really hurts, doesn't it?

Oy, you miss my point entirely. That point being, as a white person I am just as offended by a black person saying something to imply that since I'm white I don't have rhythm, or I don't have soul, or I don't know how to party or dance or make love or jump etc. etc. etc. as a black person would and should be were I to make a similar sterotyping racist comment about black people being loafers at work, or less intelligent, etc.
Edited to add:
I never watch MTV, except when I'm flipping channels and happen to land on it. I landed there twice recently, both times happened to be when a hip-hop video by a black "artist" were on, and in both videos the only appearance by a white guy was to play the complete buffoon. I think the "Roses really smell like Poo-hoo-hoo" was one of the songs. Let's see a white group have a black guy appear in their music video to play the part of a completely stereotyped urban black. MTV wouldn't touch it. That's the double-standard that I perceive.
Nah, I got what you were saying, I just think it doesn't have any merit. For what it's worth, I wasn't making fun of a white stereotype when I made the joke. You really think that the ability to keep a party going is something that would make me proud to be "black"? I suggest you stop using MTV as a gauge for your sociological perspective.

have a back bone..it can be rigid, but not inflexable.
Just for the record. I've only read Corvin's original post in this thread.
However I think it's extremely important that parents not waffle on issues such as these. Kids can do pretty much anything they want to nowadays if they are so inclined. Therefore, i think it is appropiate that they have very clear definable standards so that they know what is expected of them.

Corvin:
I think it's good that you are encouraging your kids to be diverse as far as music is concerned. In areas like that having a standard to adhere can be quite beneficial and help them to broaden their taste in music. I think it's also good that you stood your ground with her. It really does help to have parents with a backbone.

Jesus had to be white, he graduated from high school didn't he?
All that means is he wasn't a redneck and he probably didn't live in a trailer.

I know it was meant to be humorous, but I get *so* tired of the white-people-can't-dance-can't-party-can't-etc. racial superiority marketing campaign carried on by Blackman Inc.
Yeah, we're superior because we throw better parties! Tad-bit sensitive are we?
