murder letter

it will offer a new letter each week added to a list with an introduction.

read the introduction, click to view the letter and see if it answers the questions.

I know there isn't a statute of limitations on murder, but is this legal? I mean if the person didn't confess this to them outright but it was something they heard through word of mouth, could they tell the authorities then? Just had to ask those questions. However i really wanted to say that letters like these being made public can really do a lot to erode the confidence of a lot of jw's. Though it'll probably have few legal ramifications for the wts it's sure to cause an uproar, if it can be put in a spot for everyone to see.

Billions of $$$$$$$$$ For Who???

who would you say benefits from the billions of dollers the watchtower and bible tract society makes?.

is it the governing body?.

if no one group benefits then why all the deception that seem's to be going on in the organization?.

Hey Big Jim:

I think most of the money goes to the maintenance of the WTS's world-wide empire. I think the org is mostly a spending organization that needs money to finance it's enormous printing enterprises and to fund the upkeep and maintenance of it's extensive real-estate holdings around the world. I think running all those conventions can also be pretty expensive as well as the costs of room and travel for delgates from headquarters to travel around the world. All this can be pretty expensive i suppose. Enough so that they can always use more of what nobody seems to have enough of. besides that I also read on some threads here that the WTS also fund alot of other companies, most notably ones that deal with nonblood medical procedures.

in the version i have it doesn't say "generation" anymore.

This one was obtained sometime in the late 90's. I can't remember when, but I may have gotten it after they changed the meaning of generation. Hit me back ASAP with your response. Thanks in advance!

I agree with what you say. If you have probs with the board just leave. Stop posting, or just say your goodbyes and go. there is absolutely no reason to criticize ppl for getting into their own little squabbles. That's what ppl do. Hey i may even get into it with someone on the board in the future. I don't know. Nobody knows. To me it is absolutely childish and absurd to think that ppl will get along all the time and everything will always be all warm and fuzzy. Sadly some of us still suffer from WTS delusions.

Do You Fear Death?

i am very interested to know how all of you feel about the subject of death and the future.

do you fear death?

what do you think are the possibilities for the future?.

Hey Everybody:

I don't fear death in the least. Although I must say I know I would probably miss living a whole lot if i died, otherwise I don't think ppl would resist death so much. I mean ppl in some traditional churches act so wild at funerals, even though most of them believe that the person is still living in a better place. I hope there is an afterlife although i'm not too sure of it. Still in all i know I would miss living here because whatever else is out there just doesn't seem as inviting as good ol mama eath.

Yep Jschwen is right.

I attended the Downtown Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in New Orleans, LA for about a yr or so before I moved away to the Wesbank of New Orleans. I was baptized in 1996 as a member of that congregation.

I remember the friends in that congregation talking about Bro. Greenlees. It was apparently where the Society had him relocated after his ouster from Bethel. He was known for his fatherly way of dealing with the brothers and his zealousness in the feild ministry. Street work was a big part of the ministry in that congregation's territory and the friend's marvelled at how he would boldly go up and talk to ppl instead of waiting for someone to pass close to him.

The former PO of the congregation once told me that he had gotten "caught up" in the Franz debacle, and apparantly that's what most of the friends thought about him. I doubt anyone down there in his new congregation new anything about him being gay. I know he died a few yrs before I joined that congregation but i don't know when. I also heard that shortly before he died, he had been reappointed an elder in that congregation, but again i don't know for certain how true that is, thoughi wouldn't put it past em.

Fraud?

it seems that many who post on this board hold that the jw organization is a fraud, schemed mainly bu the g.b.

members.

but so far i have never read something as to the reasons behind the fraud.

Hey Nickita:

I think the GB does believe it is doing God's work on earth today. I think they are sincere in that belief. However the trouble comes in when they base this on the bible and use it to promote beliefs and policies that are out of harmony with it's message. Also a key insight into their character is how they react when a false statement made by them is brought to their attention. Any active witness who persists in believing something that is out of harmony with present WTS teachings will be df'd. So in other words if the GB is publishing a lie, and a jw doesn't want to follow that lie he or she can be thrown out of the congregation. Is that a fraudulent way of handling things of that nature? Well at the very least it is an unjust way of dealing with such a matter and is wholly unsupported in scripture.

The money issue comes in this way. Why would the GB be so insistent upon uniformity, even to the point of jeopardizing it's own "righteous standing" with the Creator and even thousand's of "true worshippers" associated with it? Even dealing with a person who is just standing up for truth so callously and unjustly. Well there are billions of reasons why they would do it.

Hey Everybody:

My first experience with message boards has been this board. I'm not really into it that's why I don't post that much. I do enjoy reading other ppl's posts and the subjects that come up during certain threads. i guess I'm like a semi-lurker. Even though some of the threads do get nasty when a contoversial subject is raised, I don't understand why ppl are all of a sudden getting bent out of shape over this. I mean this is a discussion board and when ppl have discussions sometimes things get ugly.

There are a host of things I see on this board that I'm not interested in, don't appeal to me particularly, or that I just plain don't get. But that doesn't give me the right to try to censor everyone else on the board, does it? I just respond when I feel like it, when i don't feel like then I don't. I know some ppl need the support of others who have gone through similar things. Really I think we all do. Some need a lil, some need a lot. But some in their quest for this support are forgetting that we are no longer in a convoluded delusional world where ppl tell us what we'd like to here and believe. I find in reality ppl are just more apt to tell it like it is.
