  i don't much care for the thought of going to war.

  i know that it is necessary sometimes and this thing with iraq may just be one of those times.

  but, it seems to me that a much simpler solution to the terrorist threat problem would be for the united states to issue the following warning to the muslim world.

  Diminished Morality as Proof???

  today a couple of elders came by and told me that "diminished morality" is proof that those who leave the truth have lost jehovah's favor.

  that is, when they were in the truth, they were all chaste, etc.

  but now that they are out of the truth that they don't hold the same high standards of morality.

  I don't know how anybody could prove that what that elder said is the case. Most ppl are disfellowshipped for things that started while they were still part of the organization. Often after praticing such things for some time. Still some ppl leave on their own accord without changing any of their moral standards. Everyone here can tell you of instances where witnesses in good standing are quie diminished morally. Only difference is they are quite good at hiding what they do. In my reltively brief tenure in the org, I knew quite a few that fit into that category.

  DID CLARA GET JUSTICE?

  a dentist from houston, clara harris, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to twenty years yesterday, for running over her husband with her mercedes and killing him, in a fit of rage, after confronting him and his girlfriend in a local hotel.

  now mrs. harris already knew about her husband's infidelity with the other woman, had even discussed with her husband how the two of them compared, and was apparently still trying to salvage their marriage.

  but after the confrontation inside the hotel, she lost it and ultimately ran him over multiple times with her automobile, killing him.

  If it were the other way around the dude would of been on death row right now. I saw the video clips, she ran him over at a considerable speed doin tight circles. She should be under the jail.

  Man, there is so much that we could get into here. I don't have the time to go into all of US history, but Inuit knows exactly where i'm coming from.

  Imperialism has nothing to do with right or wrong or evil or brutality and that is defintely not what I'm implying although a case can defintely be made for that when discussing American imperialism, foriegn policy or whatever you want to call it.

  What I don't get is the self-righteousness that many Americans have when it comes to our foriegn policy. Our interventionist policies in other countries have rarely been selfless acts of compassion. Rather America, like any other nation, only gets involved when it's own self-interest is involved.

  Afghanistan was mentioned. This person just shows how ignorant he is of the American involvement in the Soviet-Afghan war. We gave the Afghans weapons to fight a proxy war against the Soviet Union. After that War, the Afghan nation was in shambles as it had provided most of the theater for the conflicts. Although we readily supplied weapons to defeat a common enemy, once the war was over, and that enemy defeated, Afghanistan and it's pl were simply left in a war torn shamble of a nation. A nation that through the years became ripe to spawn groups like the Taliban, who ultimately took down the Twin Towers. So this whole scenario can be layed at the feet of the American government and it's arrogant imperialism. The chickens have simply come home to roost.
