Wow. This has kinda been my particular approach to things although I had no idea how to exactly put it into words. I had a professor who once kinda reprimanded me for saying that Ihad low-self esteem. She said in esscence no one always feels good about themselves all the time and that experiencing that from time to time was totally normal. She was right. Happiness is a word like love that is thrown around all over the place, but few actually know what it means to them. It feels as if people are always expected to be on some sort of high from life. Like you said Patio, it becomes a problem when perfectly normal people begin to think something is wrong when they don't feel this "high" all the time.

Tigris and Euphrates rivers
by undercover insomething just hit me as i was reading the genesis account.. genesis chapter 2:.
10 a river watering the garden flowed from eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters.

Leolaia,
The simple answer is that the Flood myth was a late addition to the source documents underlying the primeval history of Genesis.
Is there any other documentation out there that shows that when and where the Flood myth was added to Genesis?

Just thought I'd mention that the word of the day is THAT. The above post was one co-starring the aforementioned.

Thanks Fark,
I saw a program on tv, that mentioned that some scholars believe, that the book of Deut, was the lost book of the law that was "discovered" during the renovation of the temple.

Is it true that most scholars think that Deuteronomy was in fact written during the reign of King Josiah, to support his program reviving worship at the temple?

Overpopulation in the "Paradise" Earth!
by Leolaia injw doctrine teaches that the 1,000 years of christ corresponds to "judgment day," and everyone who has not already been judged will be resurrected from the dead.
the exceptions would be those who died during the flood, the destruction of sodom and gomorrah, and a few odd individuals.
but that's only the people living today.

If the world is gonna be all... 'paradise' and all... then that means that there won't be any snow-capped mountains... or snow-skiing.
Or - deserts - or any conditions in between.
This was one thing I thought about during my last few months as a witness. Basically, how do you explain the existance of all these different types of animals, perfectedly suited for their environments, when the the Tower says that a lot of these places came about due to the Fall of man. However, eventhe Bible shows that they are liars. A simple query about the River the came from Eden and watered the 4 corners of the earth shows this. I asked an elder about it, once. I asked him basically if jehovah created deserts. He said of course no. However, in the Insight Book, it shows that the meaning of the word Havilah, used to describe a region watered by the one the parts of the River in Eden, basically meant Desert. Therefore biblically speaking, deserts are a natural part of earth's landcape.

I CONFRONTED THE ENTIRE CONGREGATION TODAY
by Corvin intoday, i was on the scene of the local congregation of jw's where my ex-wife and her husband attend.
physical, emotional and mental abuse has been purpetrated upon my kids for eight years now.
they have been victims of alcoholism, verbal bashings and they have been made to watch their stepfather beat the hell out of their mother and then be halled off to jail without saying a word to anyone for fear fo reprisal from him and their mother.

Be sure to get some kind of family counseling. This has to be stressful, although somewhat of a relief to finally be able to take action and get all the pent up frustration out. Just try to keep things on an even keel man.

One flick I'd recommend is City of God. It's a crime drama and contains some harsh scenes, but the cinematography is first class and the acting is very well done by the young cast. It's no longer in theaters, but is available on-line on dvd.
Another that I just saw recently is A Home at the End of the World. It's a good movie, which is all I can say about it without saying too much. Very touching.
