Why can't JW's and Born-Again Christians just talk about non-biblical things?
by booker-t ini called an old friend of mine the other day who is an ex-jws and now a devout born again christian.
i was just calling him to say hello because it has been about a year since we last talked and before i could say "hi carl" every other word was "jesus"" jesus" "jesus" "jesus".
i could not get in a word edge wise without him blasting me with "jesus this" and "jesus that".

I'm not a victim and neither are you. I only stated what happen and what I saw. I wasn't taking a side really. I was pointing out that you LOST were and are doing the same that you accuse others of doing. Apparently you can't see that. You can't ask for folks to be nice to you when you aren't doing the same. It doesn't work that way here. You will receive like for like.
Actually I'm in a terribly good mood today. Mother's Day has been awesome. I've been on this board a long time. I've seen insults thrown from all sides. And yes I've been a part of it. But I've mellowed and the insults thrown my way all seem to fall by the wayside because I really don't care. I know who I am.

I had two grandparents (on my father's side) who got baptized later in life. My grandfather (on my mother's side) seems more sympathic towards the bOrg but he died of throat cancer before he could be baptized. I really think it has to do with either a fear of death or wanting to fit in with other family members.

Today was a wonderful lazy day. Coffee and Belgium waffles with strawberries in bed. Dozing with the hubby without the kids destroying the house. I feel content and rested. It was a good day.

Like what happened to me a few pages ago? That was an ad hominem attack and if anyone noticed I did not respond in kind.

mrs jones - what have i presumed about you ?
That you and I are similar. I have not made that assumption. I'm not even close to knowing who you are and I'm sure you know even less about me. Also you assumed I ran with a group on this board. Another assumption. There are folks I like on ths board but I've never been one to run with a clique. Cliques have always rubbed me the wrong way especially when involvement requires agreement with anything and everything the clique currently believes. I was never a good born-in jw associate. I didn't like running with the jw crowd and more often than not just wanted to be left alone. You assumed that I'm not being nice to you. Disagreement has nothing to do with being nice or not. It seems to me that some folks believe that one is nice if one believes everything coming out of a person's mouth as truth without the benefit of one determining if it is really truth or at least plausible. That's not being nice, it's being lazy and gullible. I do not like being gullible.
