man goes berserk at pennsylvania burger king that ran out of french fries
dubois, pa. (ap) - a burger king customer berated the employees and nearly hit one of them with his truck after the clerk at the drive-thru window told him they were out of french fries, police said.. .
gregg luttman, 22, made an obscene gesture at the drive-thru clerk on new year's day, then walked into the restaurant and cursed at the staff, said sgt.
i like mickeyd's the best with wendy's a close 2nd. burger king's have never tasted right since they changed the shortening they use.

for those who are interested in what the governing body wrote in the 2005 yearbook introduction.. as we stand on the threshold of the coming new system of things, it is urgent that we keepin expection of jehovah.
( zeph.
3:8 ) the prophet daniel stated that "god ... is a revealer of secrets, and that he has made known ... what is to occur in the final part of the days.
gag me with a spoon!

ok...i just don't understand this.
i am getting married in a few months and i thought this would be the happiest part of my life.
right now it is the most agonizing!
I tried to reply earlier but my post failed for some reason...
That is so unfair! If your mom has attended other weddings that happened to be in churches then it isnt so unreasonable that she attend yours. I now say stick to your guns hon but be prepared for other attitudes from your mom to come down the pipe (speaking from experience with my jw parents).

my kids are dying to see it since my oldest has read a couple of the books. I first saw the books at walmart and thought it would be something the kids would like. since funds are tight i may take them when the movie hits the dollar movie theather.

there's a growing trend for white folks to listen to r&b, hip hop & even "gansta' " rap music, and its generally accepted in the black community.
will there ever come a time when black folks can reasonably get away with listening to country & western music and not be affraid of being clowned upon and derided for listening to it?
come on, where my homies in 'da hood who secretly listen to c&w at?
I don't understand why some black folks get putdown for listening to stuff other than R&B. I love R&B, I grew up on it. But why cant I expand my listening taste and listen to other stuff? I'm not denying my blackness. How can I? Tthis stuff dont come off (nevermind Micheal Jackson).
One of the things I'm gonna do this year in honor of my 40th birthday is learn how to country line dance, I'm tired of doing the electric slide and why should white folks have all the fun? lol

Welcome Sista from another "Sista"
There are alot of good folk here who are glad to see you here. Pull up a chair and enjoy with us.
I was born into the "truth", never got baptised, and left the organisation in my early 20's. I dont consider myself to be an apostate and even if I was one it's really not something to fear, it just means you have a brain and are using it.
Looking forward to reading your posts.

Ok take a breather my dear. Yes this supposed to be the happiest time of your life but speaking from experience it may be one of the most stressful.
You said that your mother has been associated with the witness since you were 7 and recently got reinstated, so i'm assuming you already knew what her reaction would be to having your wedding in a church.
I do have a few questions though: Do you personally attend this church or does your soon to be hubby? Have you considered having the wedding in a neutral place like a wedding chapel or some other appropriate place? Do you truely want your mother at your wedding?
I understand it's your wedding but there are ways to get around your mother and still have a beautiful ceremony.
Now breathe deep it's gonna all work out and after you'll think "what was all the fuss about?"
