  I LOVE Sunday mornings!

  in the week i have to get up at 5:15 and go to work while the rest of my family are gently snoring in their warm and toasty beds - not fair.

  on saturdays the mornings are usually a bit noisy with teenage kids and their friends coming and going, mobiles ringing and the sound of spongebob coming from my little girls room.. but sundays.

  ah sundays!.

  I dont mind getting up on Sunday morning to go to church. I can take my time, put on some jeans and go to the second session at 10:45am, drop off the kids in their rooms so they can do what they do in there (play ), get a cup of coffee before entering the sancutary, rock out to the church band before the sermon, enjoy the sermon in peace since my little munchkins are occuppied, enjoy fellowship with others after the sermon, gather my munchkins and be home by 12:30pm to enjoy the rest of my day.

  when i was in grade school i wanted to be a brownie. all my friends were brownies and got to do fun stuff and wear that cute uniform. so when my daughter got the chance to be a brownie i signed her up. she has so much fun and it's all about being a girl and doing fun and cool stuff and building charater (sp) and self esteem. I guess that's a bad thing for a jw little girl to have huh?

  they worked my neighborhood over a year ago. i think the only reason they came was they found that we were here. this neighborhood isnt on the map yet, it's too new.

  Nursing Mom's and Meetings

  does anyone here remember nursing their babies at the meetings and/or assemblies before the laws that protected the ability to do so in public were passed in the us?

  was it any easier to do in other parts of the world?.

  So glad I didnt have to put up with any of that. I had long left the jws before having my kids. And when I breastfed my babies I tended to whip it out whenever the babies wanted to nurse, but I always made sure I had a light blanket to cover me and the baby. I think because of my stature and no nonsense looks that may be the reason why no one has ever said anything to me when I nursed in public.

  Well if you think about it the society as set itself up to be an idol to worship instead of Christ Jesus, so they dont need a cross as a symbol. The cross would detract from the importantance of the governing body and the society as a whole and it therefore not needed nor wanted by the society.

  i was molested by a brother in my congregation when i was nine years old.

  when i told my mother she went directly to a family friend and respected elder to seek advise.

  a couple days later, he and another elder made a visit to our home and questioned me for hours.

  OMG! I have family in Vallejo who are jws. My Uncle is an elder. I dont think they go to the Glen Cove congregation. They live close to Marine World. But I used to live in Glen Cove but by that time I was not going to meetings.

  Is Valentine's Day Overrated?

  my husband says it isn't a real holiday.

  he says when he was young it was about trading valentines (cards); not about gifts.

  halloween is a major holiday, but not a day off.

  I got a box of See's Candy (my fav), a very sweet card, a burned cd of my favorited songs (which hubby put in the cd player in the car to surprize me), and some good luvin.

  I made hubby a very nice dinner with some nice wine and some good luvin.

  all in all it was a nice sweet day

  I don't think God is fair./what do u think?

  my therapist and i talked about the bible, specifically, adam and eve and their sinning by eating from the forbidden fruit.

  he says it is really a great lesson on consequences of your actions.

  i agreed and we talked at some length about it, but one thing i decided, god was not fair.

  Hm yes I think it was unfair.

  In raising my kids i believe in avoidance. If i tell them not to touch something and leave it where they can get it you best believe the little darlings will touch it and move it and possiblely break it. So in raising kids wouldn't it be better just to place the item you don't want them to touch away somewhere where they cant get it? It makes life so much easier, less stress on me and less yelling at the kids.

  So in my mind no the god (father) of the Adam and Eve wasnt being a good parent and why didnt he know or think that maybe his children would be tempted to touch what was forbidden since he's supposed to know all?

  I dont take the story of Adam and Eve to be literal. I think of it as a nice little tale of a creator who didnt get it quite right and decides to blame his creation for his folly, copied and expounded on by jewish nomads from other myths of that time. Now dont think I dont believe in God, I just dont think my belief requires that I believe everything to be literally true in that book we know as the bible.
