Being a jw almost killed
by moley inthis is the first time i've commented on this site, but i do enjoy to come here just to help clarify myself in times of need, ie when those wretched teachings resurface.
a bit about myself.. i was born in 1970 into the wonderful happy organisation (lol) and had a unremarkable childhood or so i thought (apart from being abused by an ms), all i can remember is being terrified of dying at armageddon.
attending 5 meetings a week and being used to preach as people wont shout at a child, studying the literature, not being able to watch popular tv shows, no xmas, birthdays the usual shit.. fast forward to age 16 and i fell in love with a worldly girl (the horror) and got her pregnant, my parents were devasted talking all the time how people in the borg would view them, nothing about what i was going thru, 16 and becoming a father, quite a big thing to me.

Thank you Dagney.
A little clarity on "Seven". When I was pregnant with my fourth child (Joshua) we found out it was a boy. The hubby and I had a deal that he would name the boys and I would name the girls. Hubby's big idea was to name my baby Seven. I said no way. So we compromised. Seven is Joshua's middle name and Joshua is quite proud of it.

Lunar
Born under the clear August sky
New , to the world, but already
o rbiting steadily on the outside,
of our atmosphere
Above , you have begun to wax
A couple revolutions off of infancy ,
bring certain engrossments in loud repetitive adverts
that interrupt regular television
And stacking hot wheels until the tower
is too tall to stand
These interests change
as quick as they come
Waning into crescents until they are no more
Soon dressing as a small man in suits with silk ties
and constructing intricate train routes
on the carpeted floor
becomes the new normal
Not for long, first quarter brings a preoccupation with maps
of all kinds
A few more orbits pass, you are full,
gleaming with pearlescent youth
The line of phases you will shift through is unpredictable
But most likely interminable
These poems are about her brother Joshua

That was a school assignment. She had to write a total of three poems (the other two are just as good, she got 105 out of 100). She used to write for pleasure but has kinda fallen away from it. Other folks have commented on her talent but I don't think she really believes in it yet.

Tantrums , occur frequently
Often after a little boy realizes
that he won't get his way this time,
that the candy bar lounging on the counter won't
find it's chocolately insides under his fingernails
and smeared around his plump lips before dinner
Sometimes , we aggravated the last-born
Without our mother's knowledge
Just for a show
Dramatic since birth, he cried with a tune
Composing a woeful ballad on a whim
in his crumb encrusted booster
as each crystal tear slid down his cheeks
Not really forming words, his poignant sobs rose and fell
like a crisp violin's melancholy solo
With soft hiccups keeping time
for lack of a proper metronome
Baby S even would wail notes of mournful melodies
until he drifted off to sleep
We mutely applauded as his eyelids fluttered shut

The one jw I see regularly at my youngest's son school shuns me. Totally fine with me cuz I don't like her.
