I really enjoyed the music, it was soothing, especially when depressed. I used to play the music and sing when I was pregnant. I was hoping my unborn child would enjoy it also. Then again I love alot of different music, always have. I still have the song book and music tapes. I don't play them now, because I think they would make me cry.

Kingdom Melodies
by Dawn ini was just listening to my new nicole c. mullen cd (she rocks!!
) and i had this thought...... i really enjoy christian rock music now, but i had never listened to it as a jw because i wasn't allowed.
so instead i listened to that every uplifting ac/dc, metalica, scorpions (still favorites of mine).. the society did release the "kingdom melodies" on tape though and everyone bought the complete set.....did anyone here ever really enjoy that music?

judged for not ostrisizing?
by blindfool inok, i'm getting a little lazy here.
i glanced at a couple of jw books on the issue, but i know you guys can answer, so i'm going straight to the experts.. what happens if a good witness refuses to ostracize a df'd member.
i know an elder might approach and question their actions, but would a judicial committee ever be formed to stop a person from associating with a df'd witness?.

HoChiMin is right some elders, not all, get a high on authority and control. And yes they do have their little spies, be watchful. I don't honestly believe that when it comes to family, no one should tell you, you have to shun them. That's the shame of the org. play by the rules, or you could get into trouble they say.

My prayers if they are being heard, are with your friends, what a tragic thing to happen. I can well imagine this also has deeply affected you as well, just to let you know you are in my thoughts. Take care.

I'm not D/f or D/a and my dad wont even talk to me
by LyinEyes inthe last time i heard from my father, was last july , a few days before a special assembly day.
he heard that we were not going to meeting anymore, which was stange since hubby was an elder last time he thought to check on me.
i have always been the good daughter, the one who stayed in "the truth" , the one he was so proud of.

So sorry to hear this Lyineyes, same has happened to me only it is my mother and sister who shun me. I have come to the conclusion they are the ones who miss out. Not only in having my companionship, but the grandchildren they never see, and niece and nephew. They make the choice, so they live with that. I try to live my life the best I can. Lots of love to you, cause I still know it hurts hard and deep. Take care.

Prayers, are they heard?
by bigfloppydog ini need some opinions on this question please.

Thank you all for your opinions, whether I believe in God, I truly want to, because I always thought of him as my refuge, when I was troubled, I used to pray. When I left, I tried, but I guess lack of my faith, it just wasn't the same. I continued to believe that because I left I was a bad person, and he wouldn't listen to my prayers. Some time later, a comment was made to me by a family member, that Satan was now living over my house, because I had left. I do believe the bible, I do believe in Jesus, but I believe now that the org. is man's org. and not sure if now if it is influenced by God.Yes DakotaRed you have a good point here. I think Satan can manuever many people, whether in or out of org. I guess what I really would like is some kind of spritual comfort within myself, for how I feel about me as a person. I don't think, no, I am sure I will never be part of any religion again, because when I was in the org. I truly believed in it, and it has turned out to be such a false hope for me.Being a very naive, and gullable person, I tend to whole-heartedly take in a believe what I'm told by ones, ones such as in the org. Hope I am making some sense here, not sure though. But thanx again everyone. Have a great day.

I need some opinions on this question please. If one has left org. or been df does God hear our prayers? I would like to think this is so, but have some doubts. I understand he doesn't but I'm not sure.
