Had tooth pulled-tremendous pain

yesterday i had an abscessed wisdom tooth pulled.

the pain now is much more severe then before it was pulled.

the worst pain is where the dentist gave me the local injections-it hurts so bad!

Man I feel for you! I have nothing more to offer you in the way of help that wasn't already said, I was going to say rinse with salt water, dry socket ect...but I'm glad you're going to another Doc on Monday. Until then dope yourself up on meds and rest!

I had no idea that going to the dentist could be pain free until I moved away from our family dentist of over 20 years and went to my current husband's dentist. I have apologized to all my kids for putting them through the family dentist!! I seriously thought you were supposed to hurt after a cleaning! grrrr!

Now I almost look forward to going and I always ask for the gas no matter what I have done! I love that stuff! Anyway my gums don't hurt afterward as this Dentist is so gentle I never have any kind of pain afterward, well maybe a little discomfort but nothing to keep me up at night over.

are these the talks you were talking about?

ASSIGNMENT No. 3: 5 minutes. This will be assigned to a sister. Students receiving this assignment will either select a setting or be assigned one from the list appearing on page 82 of the Ministry School Textbook. The student should use the assigned theme and apply it to an aspect of field service that is realistic and practical for the territory of the local congregation. When no references are indicated as source material, the student will need to gather material for this part by doing research in publications provided by the faithful and discreet slave class. Newer students should be assigned talks for which references are supplied. The school overseer will be particularly interested in the way the student develops the material and the way she helps the householder to reason on the Scriptures and to understand the key points of the presentation. Students assigned this part should know how to read. The school overseer will assign one assistant.

That made me puke! Talk about mind control......leaves no room for "free thinking"! Man I forget how protected we were from the outside world, why I didn't see this as cult-like back then?! It's so obvious to me now.

I've found it difficult to explain to the uninitiated how the woman never speaks directly to the audience but rather rehearses a little role-play on stage.

Because the woman is not to be a teacher in the Congregation when there are able bodied men around to do so she would have to wear a head covering. Somehow teaching a ~~supposed~~ pretend Bible Study is not the same.

I'm also looking for the general outline. That is, what distinguishes a #3 from a #4 and #6.

The explanation of the talks to be given are also on the yearly schedule ie; it explains for say talk #1 it's to be given by a brother™and to cover the material outlined say pages such and such in some book or another and it's to be a 5 minute talk. There is no outline for these talks just material in given publications to be covered and a time allowance for each talk.

So where are the outlines for the #3, #4, and #6 talks? I couldn't find them in my husband's TMS book. And before you ask, I woke him up to get permission first to snoop through his WT stuff.

If I remember right yearly an insert in the Kingdom Ministry™ came out with that years material to be covered in talks #'s 1-4. It was also posted each month on the Information Board™ in the back of the Hall™ where the assignments were then known who would be giving what talks, what night whom your householder™ would be ect. You were also given an Assignment™ slip by the School Conductor™ to remind you of your talk and what points you would be graded on.

I am surprised how little I remember of this! This is good, no?

You never cease to amaze me Sparky! What a huge undertaking and something I've thought of doing many times so many of you have touched me in ways that you'll never know and our brief interactions may give the wrong conclusion especially if it was due to my moderating one of your posts. I just hope y'all understand my intentions were/are always good and I've rarely held a bad feeling towards anyone here.

i am starting this thread since low-key lysmith and momzcrazy were very surprised they are here on jwd on my thread about what congregations they have attended in their lifetime, so who knows we might be surprised for more online reunions.

I am trying to understand my cat

like i said on a previous thread, this is my first cat.

this cat always follows me around and demands to be petted all of the time.

he wants to be carried all of the time.

Fisherman I have no clue as to why your cat has certain behaviors but like you I think there must be a reason for them and it would drive me crazy trying to figure it out too!

I've been thinking about getting a cat to replace the dog we had which died recently. Hubby and I are still in the talking cat vs dog mode but I have been doing some research online and found this great website you might want to take a look:

The women give the "oh stop your sniveling and get your talk prepared" talk to hubby before the main event.

Okay so I'm kidding.....the women have the privelege of giving the #3 talk at the weekly Theocratic Ministry School™.

It's one thing to say stupid things when you're sitting around the table with friends, but quite another to display such ignorance on a national television program with millions of people watching!

Yeah bummer about that but hey I think from what I saw on those clips it totally shows how being raised a JW could "stunt" your growth in areas that have to do with Biblical history, after all the Bible to a JW was/is the end all and how many of us ever took the time to do research after we left the B'org?

Here's what I do regarding Bible topics;maybe Sherri will do the same especially after the grilling she took on you-tube?
