I don't usually say anything...but something smells fishy to me. Come on, this "pioneer" joins board and gives this fantastic story and then her best friend signs up the next day????????? Then the friend hurriedly posts from her own computer when the IP address match? I could go on, but what's the point?
I wish we had a red flag in the emoticons and I'd throw it!

Now unless I'm missing something Odrade she never asked for this poster to out herself. So would you kindly get off your high horse and quit badgering people about this already. You've made your point, we've gotten the message it's way past time to let it go. You are being abusive and it won't be tollerated any longer.

Plenty of people have apologized profusely to you on this and the other thread and you have never acknowledged or accepted their apologies you just keep throwing it all back in their face. It really must be hard keeping your angel wings tucked in your shirt, you might try giving us mere humans a break after all we're imperfect and can at least admit it. Is it really that hard to be kind?

Odrade...I must have missed the thread that elected you "thread monitor!!!!!" I have heard enough from you on MY THREAD! I haven't bothered YOU in the least and yet you PERSIST in disrupting the ongoing discussion on this topic, trying instead to make it about YOU and YOUR concerns!
Start your own thread and say anything you want on it. I won't bother you in the least! Get over yourself and grow up! I don't care if you have a viewpoint different than mine and it shouldn't bother you this much that I do!!!

Calm down SWALKER......some people have a need to feel useful regardless of how it's felt by others.

FWIW you may be the starter of a thread insomuch as it's your idea and you continue the dialog but no one really OWNS a thread, they seem to have a life of their own.

JWD should have an authenticated user mechanism whereby if you are happy to be identified everybody else can see who you are, and validate you.

They do and if you choose to use it you can it's in your Profile upload a picture of yourself and ta-da!

Have You Ever Gone Back In Time?

last week i revisited a place in my youth that was important.

it no longer exists.

not even an address.

Lots of back in time memories. The older I get the more I have.

I recently went down south where I raised my family and stayed in a Motel for several days right in the downtown section. It was weird for me almost haunting and very emotional. I get emotional as I type this thinking about it. So many memories and it's true mostly all the good ones come back to mind I didn't remember any of the bad ones.......I did get a sick feeling when I drove by the KH.

I had a neat experience going back to my Grandparents house years after I had left the city they still lived in and I had long ago moved from I took my kids for a visit. It was fun to watch them play in my Grandparents yard just like I did when I was their age. My boys were climbing the old walnut tree out back and my younger son had uncovered the little "boat" fountain which is under the tree covered in leaves and debris from the tree for probably several years! He automatically became Cap't Hook....hey I used to play pirates on that boat too! Then came the familiar shrill of Granny's voice yelling at the boys to get down from that tree before they fall and get hurt! I remembered that too!! What I didn't count on was her then scolding me for letting them kids run wild! My Mom could probably relate to that one.

As a Witness I Hated Personal Study- How About You ?

i started a serious thread on cult mind control- so i figured i'd start a sarcastic funny thread, or serious, your choice how to explore it , on personal study !

i got so sick and tired as a witness with that expression being crammed down my throat !

Gotta do your personal study or you will wilt away spiritually !

That stuff used to bore the bejesus outa me so I had ways of making it fun. After all I realized the whole JW mentality was all for show, show up at the meetings, show you studied, show how spiritual you are, show how many hours you can put in field service, show how many studies you can get....bla,bla,bla....

So my study technique which made it fun for me was to use at least 4 colored highlight pens and mark up my literature, color coded, yellow for the A. answer orange for the B. answer, green for the scriptures and pink (oh I loved pink!) for an answer I might raise my hand and give if I felt like it or wasn't in the bathroom or outside walking the kiddo around the parking lot. It was hard work all that boring underlining! Plus it looked like I studied even if I really didn't!

i haven't posted much in a while because i've been in deep thought about some recent events and trying to sort them all out.

i think you guys all know me well enough to know if i'm just freakin nuts or not...so assuming you all think i am sane...does this sound crazy to anyone else?.

when i got here, people kept telling me that if you come here, walk here, and are supposed to be living here, you will do so within a month of touching the ground.

Is Hell?' Come early and listen to our choir practice.

Eight new choir robes are currently needed due to the addition
of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.

Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles and other items to be
recycled.Proceeds will be used to cripple children.

Please place your donation in the envelope along with the
deceased person you want remembered.

The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.

Potluck supper Sunday at 5:00 PM -- prayer and medication to follow.

The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind.
They may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon.

This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the park
across from the Church. Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.

Ladies Bible Study will be held Thursday morning at 10 AM. All
ladies are invited to lunch in the Fellowship Hall after the B.S. is done.

The pastor would appreciate it if the ladies of the congregation
would lend him their electric girdles for the pancake breakfast next Sunday.

Low Self Esteem Support Group will meet Thursday at 7 PM.

Please use the back door.

The eighth-graders will be presenting Shakespeare's Hamlet in
the Church basement Friday at 7 PM. The congregation is invited to attend this tragedy.

Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM at the First PresbyterianChurch.
Please use large double door at the side entrance.

The Associate Minister unveiled the church's new tithing

I'm happy to inform you that the company Christmas Party will take place on December 23rd, starting at noon in the private function room at the Grill House.

There will be a cash bar and plenty of drinks! We'll have a small band playing traditional carols. Please feel free to sing along. Don't be surprised if the Managing Director shows up dressed as Santa Claus! A Christmas tree will be lit at 1.00 p.m. Exchange of gifts among employees can be done at that time, however, no gift should be over $10.00 to make the giving of gifts easy for everyone's pockets. This gathering is only for employees! The Managing Director will make a special announcement at the Party.

What a diverse group we are! I had no idea that December 20th begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating and drinking during daylight hours.

There goes the party! Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon at this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employees' beliefs. Perhaps the Grill House can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party or else package everything up for you to take home in a little foil doggy bag. Will that work? Meanwhile, I've arranged for members of Weight Watchers to sit farthest from the dessert buffet and pregnant women will get the table closest to the toilets. Gays are allowed to sit with each other, lesbians do not have to sit with gay men, each will have their own table. Yes, there will be flower arrangements for the gay men's table too. To the person asking permission to cross dress - no cross dressing allowed. We will have booster seats for short people. Low fat food will be available for those on a diet. We cannot control the salt used in the food, so we suggest those people with high blood pressure taste the food first. There will be fresh fruits as dessert for diabetics. The restaurant cannot supply "No Sugar" desserts. Sorry!
