So Sorry for having not posted sooner.
by orangefatcat ini must apoligize to many of you wonderful friends here for having been tardy in getting back to everyone.. it has been quite a rollercoster for me, and i am just trying to take life one day at atime.
i have moments when i feel more sorrow than other days.
i have some great friends who have supported me during some of these rougher days.. i recieved many cards of condolances.

I finally got to meet my family after 20 years!!!!
by FreedomFrog intoday i got to go to the stapleton family reunion.
we as kids didn't get to go to these reunions because, as my parents would say "bad association".
most of my family (including uncles) i haven't seen in over 20 yrs.

That is so cool!
I can't imagine your parents thinking their very own family reuinion would be bad association!! Who the heck raised THEM? Sorry but as a kid my mom the JW and my dad a non-believer we went to all our family reuinions both sides. It's the most fun a kid can have with their cousins and aunts, uncles, grand parents. I would hate to have missed out on all that fun, sorry you did.
I hope you spend the next years of your life getting to know your family! Think of all the family history you've missed out on, now you can make some!

cleaning house
by purplesofa inwhat do you do to get yourself motivated to clean your house.. do you go through spells where you are just not interested in housekeeping?.
i am going through a phase(which now seems to be seroius) of just doing the least amount possible.
same with my yard.. i kept thinking something would spark me, but its just not coming to me.. i would almost rather move than do anything!!!!!!.

I only clean my house because I can't stand a dirty one. I keep things tidy all week long and have one day scheduled during the week to do the big cleaning. Works for me always has.
When I get burned out cleaning which happens frequently as I clean for other people 3 days a week......I use the reward system. The sooner I get my house cleaned the sooner I can _____. Then I push myself and get it done and go out and have fun! In the summer months when it's hot and what I want to do is spend time riding my bike I'll do that early in the morning then come home and torture myself cleaning, ugg. If it doesn't get done no biggy there's always next week, riding my bike is way more fun!

Ever have sunburn so bad...

ugh...i got it a week ago when i forgot i was fair skinned and left without sunscreen!
there's a brown patch which doesn't feel like skin any longer and has little to no sensation.

I've gotten sunburned so bad when I was a kid playing at the beach, this was before sunscreen! Anyway I had sun poisoning and was very sick. I couldn't stand any thing to touch my skin, no clothes and spent most of my time in the tub soaking in cold water with vinegar. It was awful, I blistered and peeled all over for weeks! And I'm dark skinned I hardly ever burn.

We Are Dying!

i've chosen to "come out" for a moment just to talk about the 30 minute change in the public talk on sundays.
my father and brother are both elders, this change was a blow to them they enjoy giving encouraging public talks to the friends.

There's an older sister in our hall who is like a grandmother to me, she's in her eighties. I trust her and confide in her all the time. I told her I was thinking of coming here and she told me to go ahead and try it. She said I might be surprised. She was right. I held my breath for a couple hours now just waiting to see what would happen all that did happen though was that I received a welcome and some fellow feeling. Thank you.
She did say though that the best thing was to taste and leave. I wish the world could be what we all wish it could be. I wish we could all be good friends. I wish there was no wars and everyone had enough food and a good home to live in. I wish many things!
I wish the Society would give us more food and spiritual clothing to cover ourselves. I wish I were a man and maybe then I could make changes for the better.
Well, good night everybody. One last wish! Wish I could meet some of you! My "grandmother" would say though, "enough wishin' girl time to get some sleep."
May Jehovah's blessing be upon everyone here.

Get a hobby, but don't enjoy it too much. Try scrapbooking maybe. Something it's impossible to get too passionate about.

Anyone here still in and wondering like I am? If so, have you heard anymore about this from the elders in your hall? Several of us are feeling that the Society is out of control. What that means we don't really know except that all we can do is wait and hang on to one another.
My congregation is dying and we are not the only ones.

You are right about one thing the JW's religion as you've known it is dying, but that's not the bad news and the good news is that you won't die in some make believe Armageddon right around the corner.
Hey it was right around the corner when I was 17, just getting married, then it was coming in 1975 when I was way pregnant (woe to the pg woman), then it was right around the corner when my kids were graduating HS and it's still right around the corner and my granddaughter is in HS.
Still waiting.......I suggest you get informed and get on with your life before you waste it waiting on Jehober. Have fun life is for the living not the waiting to live in a paradise new earth™.

i joke on here alot and try to lighten the mood, but, that's to keep me from screaming. i'm at a point where i really want to help people.
Humor is the best medicine! Along with crying it's also an emotional release. Many of the great comedians were/are people who are suffering from tragic lives, they find it easier to laugh than to cry.......eventually we all cry, sometimes we laugh until we cry.
But I'm rambling.....must be the meds, LOL.
