  Regarding not "looking right", I'm sorry but if a person *looks* like a terrorist, I want him thoroughly checked out before he gets on the plane.

  WTH? God comments like this scare me. Geez. What does a terrorist look like? So if I'm a person of Middle Eastern descent, a long black beard, dark skinned, and wearing a turban, I should be searched because in "your" mind I look like a terrorist? Good grief. If you remember, Timothy McVeigh was one of the US's most well-recognized terrorists. And he was blonde haired, blue eyed, and American borne and bred. Would you have wanted him searched?

  M.E (chronic fatigue)...the jehovahs witness disease

  a congregation here in the uk had so many cases of m.e (chronic fatigue) that it was labelled as the jehovahs witness disease.

  i must say that in my old cong.

  and locally in other congs., there was an abnormally high percentage of people with this problem.why do you think this was the case?????

  My father was diagnosed with CF several years ago. He could (literally!) hardly get out of bed in the morning. I think those many years of twins, rebellious teenage (me), owning his own company, being an MS, declaring bankruptcy, pressure to be an elder, took it's toll on him. I've seen pictures of my father lately and he doesn't look well. He looks terribly sad and tired. I know if he left this dam* organization, his entire life and health picture would change for the better.

  Dansk is in the hospital --- emails from Claire

  dansk (ian) is in the hospital.

  as you know, he posted to us on wednesday morning (after the tuesday night vigil) saying that he felt very bad.

  claire ended up having to go home from work because he was feeling so weak and having some trouble breathing.. here are her emails.

  Oh gosh, somehow I missed this thread too.

  Ian, I am praying for your health to recover quickly and I'm praying for Claire (your angel!) to do whatever in her strength to help make you well. I'll also pray for your doctors to have a humble attitude to pull on any knowledge at all to provide you strength.

  Don't feel helpless everyone...prayer DOES work!

  Do you remember the Green family? They moved to Moberly,mo. They had several kids. One daughter, who would be 40-41 now, is named Tracy. Our family used to go to Bowling Green and visit occasionally before they moved. Small world!

  No...I can't seem to remember that family at all. I was there from the early 80's until the mid 80's...so not too long. Perhaps we just crossed roads. I'm 33. Is there another Green child closer to me in age? Perhaps I'd remember that name. Andi

  What did shunning do to you?

  there can be little doubt that the wts 'shunning' policy is a dangerous weapon.

  each year tens of thousands of people are disfellowshipped, and experience the reality of being shunned.

  many of them still believing the wts doctrine that if they die in this condition they will shortly be executed by god at har-meggedon and die an eternal and disgraceful death some leaving the faith altogether.

  Shunning was the most painful thing I've ever endured. I didn't kill me, but it came close on one occassion. I'd lost my parents, I'd lost my faith, I'd lost God, I'd lost my friends, I'd lost my church - I lost everything that I associated my VALUE with.

  About 15 years later, I realize MY value is MY value. Nothing more, nothing less. It has nothing to do with my parents, my church, my friends, my job. It's ME. And standing alone, I have value. Which is 180 degrees different from what the WTS teaches.

  I would never wish shunning on anyone, but I'm grateful I went through it. It's made me very strong and it's made my life what it is today - FREE and AMAZING!

  When I was a child, I was about 90 minutes north of St. Louis in the Bowling Green congregation. Left in the mid 80's when I was in high school.

  i have this video and give it my wholehearted endorsement.

  it is the story of the worldwide church of god which was started by a man named herbert armstrong, who had the same self-aggrandizing disease shared by russel-rutheford-knorr-franz..... the church began to reform after his death (which was not supposed to happen because he was "elijah" returned in the end times to "set things right" before christ's return) the video is the story of that reformation.. i am sure they still have some problems.

  i stumbled across what appears to be a website maintained by a jw circuit overseer.

  on it he includes what looks like a question from readers.

  it has very strong things to say about the 'beastliness' of cats--and why christians should consider whether or not it is proper to have them in our homes.
