when you sit down to write a program, there are tons of different ways you can go about it.
the "best" way doesn't exist.
sometimes it's driven by how many people will be using the program, or how quickly it has to be written, or how much money is supposed to be spent writing it.. but sometimes none of that comes into play because of the standards established by the company you're working for.
Thanks Simon. See? What would we do without you techie-folk???

well, here ya' go - interesting reading for your friday:.
tom foreman: your parents sent you away from the nazis when you were ten years old and your entire family died at auschwitz.
dr. ruth: that's right.
Good thing you didn't comment on her pipsqueakiness, Andi, or she may have pumped five rounds into you!
Are you kidding? A JW pre-teen in the presence of a female doctor that discusses sexuality like the local weather man discusses barometric pressure?!?! My step-mom grabbed my hand and spun me into the next art exhibit before I could say, "Hey, that's..."

I saw her once when I was a little girl. My step-mom and I went to NYC to visit Bethel. While there we took a few days to visit all the NY touristy places, including The Met. We stepped around a corner and saw Dr. Ruth. I was around 11 or 12 at the time and I've always been pretty petite. But I remember finding it funny that I TOWERED over Dr. Ruth. She was about 2 feet away and seriously...it was sooo funny to me that someone grown would be that much of a pipsqueak.
msmcdukets thread what do you do when this board isn't enough?.
msmcduket, i seem to have forgotten that there is a life outside of jwd.
i lost my job last christmas, so i lost my housekeeper.
HL,
I had (have sometimes!) the same problem. This board is damn addictive!!! I found I'm here more when I'm bored with my life. *shrug* But a couple weeks ago, I went on a camping trip with my husband and it was a life changing event for me. That weekend I had a bit of a spiritual "epiphany". That this life has SOOO much to offer and I'm missing it by sitting in front of this computer. So since then I've started making lists of things I want to do everyday. Little things like, have ice cream for breakfast, walk my dog for 10 minutes in the neighborhood, have a Starbucks/Barnes and Nobles date with myself, sit in a restaurant and have a cup of soup and read. Silly things that don't take much time or money, but do a lot to enrich my life. Life with myself and God. The point was to feed myself mentally and emotionally. I have to say that it's helped a lot! When I can enjoy the little things in life, I want more...not less...thus my time on the computer lately has tapered a bit.
Also, last weekend I had our Mission Yard Sale. Which has done LOADS for my cleaning bug. I cleaned out my closets like crazy and then some. It felt SO GOOD to get the stuff out of my house!!! (I even vacuumed my closet space, which NEVER happens.) Since then I'm much more particular about how my house looks. I don't want it to get back to the way it was. So much easier to maintain than do big clean ups!!!
Just sharing my success that might work for you too!
Love,
Andi
yesterday, talking to a dear wise friend, she said about jehovahs witnesses, "they don't own god.
" that simple statement said so much to me.
she said that so many religions have taken god and act like they and only they own him.
Any 'God' that would let the conditions go on in the earth as we see them today ( Not to mention what we don't even know about) is NO GOD...They can have him!
That's the thing Legolas. We don't know all that we don't see. I find it interesting when people are so willing to toss God because He/She/It doesn't "help them"...ease their pain, make life better, make the world better, etc. I struggle with this because to me, it's believing the JW Jehovah, which is not (IMO) a true depiction of God. I guess I liken it to a small child who thinks their world has come to an end when Santa doesn't give them what they want. Has the child's world really come to an end? In their mind, yes, but to a wiser more experienced adult, it's child's play. Or when an adolescent thinks their world has come to an end because their 14-year old crush broke up with them. Has the adolescent's world really come to an end? In their mind, yes, but to a wiser more experienced adult, again...it's child's play. It is my belief that this world is as it is for a reason. Is it perfect? No, not at all. But I don't believe this is all there is either. There is a better place for me in the future. This life is temporal and I try to take out of it the good I can. Learn the lessons I can. Enjoy the blessings I can. I can't have the good without the bad...it's a package deal. A package deal that is childish/adolescent living compared to what lies ahead. I guess that's why I don't worry about what I experience now. Because I know my future holds something better than what this world gives me. My best day here is worse than any bad day up there. Does this make sense? I'm not trying to push my beliefs onto anyone...just state why the state of this world doesn't bother me terribly. It's not where I place my hope and faith.

Jez,
Yesterday, talking to a dear wise friend, she said about Jehovahs Witnesses, "They don't own God." That simple statement said so much to me. She said that so many religions have taken God and act like they and only they own him. That they have exclusive rights to him. That they and only they have the right to interpret his scriptures, his intent, his motives, his actions. She said that she finds this kind of thinking Satanic or anti-Christ. I had never thought of it in those terms before, "They don't own God."I've never thought about it quite in those terms. But it's so true! How selfish and small-minded. Things I already knew, but put in this verbiage it takes on a deeper meaning. Thanks for that! Andi
ladies, do you prefer a male or a female doctor, when going to your ob / gyn ?.
gentlemen, does it matter to you when your s.o.
goes to a male gynecologist ?.
Josie,
Hey if they can invent diaper wipe warmers why cant they invent speculum warmers? Maybe I should invent one.
My doc puts the speculum in warm water before my exam. NONE of my female doctors I've ever had did that. Also...he talks me through my exam...
"I'll touch the inside of your leg, so you know exactly when I enter."
"I'm checking your cervix, so this might twinge a bit."
Although some women may not necessarily appreciate the commentary, I do. I like knowing exactly what he's doing. I'm fascinated by the human body and might even enjoy my exam more if I had a mirror above the doc's head. Not sexually of course, but I wanna see what he sees.
I think any guy that demands his girl go to a female doctor, needs to have his head examined. Or he needs to be dumped. That's major insecurity talking. What else does he want to control in my life???

mrs kwin has really wanted to get into digital imaging and has taken several courses over the last couple years for it.
well, on the weekend she got a job offer from her aunt.
her aunt is starting up a company and needs someone to do just that!
Congrats Kwin and Mrs. Kwin. When things "fall into place" easily, I always think it's the "way it's sposed to be".
