i have been watching the page counts for the last 2 months.. jwd is close to have 5000 pages of posts.
as of this post we are still 11 pages away from the 5000 mark (4989).
i bet simon never expected this to grow the way it has or become the wonderful resource and gathering place of so many who need the support and understanding of those who need it.. from active jws to ex-jws to doubting jws to ubms of jws and even the curious as well as the odd student wanting to write a paper jwd has been a great place to learn, get and give support and connect with others.
Milestone? I thought it was only a milestone to hit the 144,000 mark.
listen to this funny christmas song called "no christmas for the jehovah's witness" at: .
http://www.harraway.com/no_christmas_for_jehovahs_witness.html .
it really describes what it's like growing up without christmas as a jw kid in a very comical way.
Dusty,
Welcome to the board! I listened to your song...you sound great!!! It's a funny song and the fact that someone is saying it's "sacriligous" is ridiculous. Free speech is what gives them the right to say what their beliefs are.
Hope to see you 'round!

as many of you know, i have a myspace.com account.. apparently, while i was out last night, someone called my mother and informed her of my activities on myspace.
my mother called and asked me for my login info, and was shocked to see me, and around 40 witnesses in my area having active profiles.
contents of these profile ranged from a few pictures to downright self-incrimination.
(((((((Richie))))))))) I'm so sorry. Even though me getting DFed was one of the hardest experiences I've been through (back when I was about your age too!), it was the biggest blessing to me. I'm out 15 years now and haven't looked back. Life is free. And when life is free, life is good.
Hang in there friend and in the meantime, we'll be waiting for your return. PLEASE stay in touch!
Love,
Andi
from the watchtower january 1, 2006. a letter that touched her heart.. one traveling overseer remembers well one occasion when he and his wife returned to their accommodations after a very chilly winter day in the ministry.
he says: "my wife was cold and discouraged, and she told me that she felt she couldn't continue.
'how much better', she said,'it would be to serve in the full-time ministry with a congregation, stay in one place, and conduct our own bible studies.
The one thing I've noticed from some of the churches I've been involved in, is that the pastor's wives are VERY involved in their own ministries. Many times those ministries are geared for other women in the congregation or specifically for the wives of the church leadership. It's my belief that just like men that are called to the ministry, their wives are called to be minister's wives. It does take a special kind of woman to be a happy minister's wife. But then again, the churches I've been involved in do not treat women as lesser class citizens either. Women are encouraged to seek their own niche within the congregation, whether they are married to leadership or not. I find my current pastor's wife one of the most encouraging, sweet, wise women I know. She works full-time as a teacher, has raised three kids, is involved in teaching Sunday School class and has been married to her husband for close to 25 years. We had them over for dinner last spring and it was obvious they were still very much in love. They kidded around and teased each other and held hands a lot. It was a neat thing to witness. And it was an incredibly stark contrast to many of the JW marriages I saw growing up. Where the women are ignored and oppressed in ways that are completely unbiblical and unloving. It makes me sad for my mom.

i had a septoplasty, turbinate shaving, & removal of a nasal bone spur this last monday.
i almost posted that i was going to have a procedure and ask that you all keep me in your thoughts.....but, thought that compared to what some here are going through, that this would be nothing at all.
has anyone here had similar surgery?
((((((Alana)))))))
Ooooh, I'm so sorry. A friend of mine had septoplasty a few years ago, along with shaving. She has told me, compared to childbirth, she'd rather go through childbirth again. Her surgery was terribly painful. But she did say she didn't regret it, she's been able to breathe for the first time since she was a kid. Even her voice is different now because it's not so nasally. She always sounded stuffed up, even when she wasn't ill. That and the fact that she's getting decent sleep now too. She said she's much happier now.
Just hang in there...it'll get better!!!

haven't been on in awhile.
kind of need to disconnect every now and then.
me and itis met our first jwd fellow apostate today!
((((GGG))))) You're in my thoughts!!!
Freedomlover, there is nothing like meeting a fellow apostate in the flesh. You really think they'll have horns and a forked tail, but everyone I've met is always incredibly kind, gracious, and has a lovely sense of humor. (Which, btw, I think you MUST have in order to escape this thing alive and intact!) I'm glad you had a good time!
.
hey all its 2:26 am here and i cant sleep .

I hope those sleeping pills don't kick in too late. You'll look like a pile of jello at the altar!

wow was that fun!.
my uncle (by marriage) said grace.

Please not the sacrificing!!!
