Sister "I just have to comment all the time" had my thought...
by wanderlustguy ini was thinking about how one of the cult tactics come into play in such a simple action, like commenting at the meetings.
don't know if it was the same everywhere, but at our hall, sometimes the wt study conductor would call on a couple of people in sequence, the first would give thier comment, then brother "i get to carry the microphone" would run over to the other, just for them to say "he, she had my thought".
just that statement "they had my thought" says so much now.

I remember at one WT study there was a sister who thought that she didn't get called on enough, so she brought one of those rubber finger things that you wear at a football game and put that on to get the conductors attention. It worked and she got called on and then just read the answer out of the magazine.
LMAO!

(((Josie))) I'm so glad you've found such a great church home. There are more out there than the JWs would like to admit. My church is similar. If you're missing or going through hard times, people are always very quick to jump in and encourage with NO hidden agenda or guilt trips. It really is the way it should be.

A couple months ago we had a garage sale. We gathered old useless boxes of stuff from friends and family. Stuff they were wanting to just trash and we took it to sell. At the end of the sale, we had some dishes that didn't go. I have done some research on the net and realized one of the plates is a collectors item that sells for $35 - $57 a plate!!! I have a three other odd dishes that didn't sell. But I can't seem to find any info on them on the net. Does anyone know anything about Royal Limoges, Royal Albert, or Johnson Bros of England? Do you think if I just take them to a local dealer, they'd buy them from me? Any suggestions?

Does the King Kong movie have racist overtones?
by enlightenedcynic inhey everybody,.
was having a discussion with a co-worker about the new kk movie.
he asked if i saw it already.

Why do some people always have to look for an some hidden meaning that nearly always results in allowing them to play the victim. Isn't time better spent addressing legitimate racism and discrimination, there is enough of that without S T R E T C H I N G for hidden messages.
It's kinda like those people that look at the pictures in the WTS art depictions that try to find Satan's face. Some people are just wired to play victim.

I LOVE wrapping gifts! My first few years of holidays, my gifts were HORRIBLE! LOL! But with a little practice and time, I quickly learned how to do it. I even asked my roomies back then to let me wrap their gifts. Of course, they hated wrapping gifts, so they let me do it.

Sherry,
Yet I have never seen anyone fear death more, cling to life more, or try to legislate against merciful endings in dire medical circumstances. (This is not to give an opinion on that last one, I haven't decided how I feel about that yet myself.) However if you knew you were dying and going to heaven wouldn't you be looking forward to that? I don't get it.
As a Christian, I believe that this earthly Life is NOT all there is. And while I'm greatly blessed during my presence here (darling husband, wonderful house, sweet pets, amazing friends and church family) there is nothing on this earth that excites and relieves me more than the idea of going to heaven. There have been many moments in my life that I have pleaded for my Father to take me home. But here I stay. I believe it is because I have yet to complete what my God have assigned to me to do during my lifetime. Should I go tomorrow, I think I might mourn my own passing. Not because of losing my earthly life, but because I know that my husband, friends and family are behind mourning me as well. THAT idea breaks my heart...today. And yet at the same time, I have a feeling that I will have an understanding of Life that they don't yet have. That the beautifulness and glory of Heaven is so amazing, that the loss of what I left behind is but a simple surface wound. The relief and joy of the afterlife overwhelms the pain of not being with my loved ones.

I don't have kids either, but I know that my children will be VERY closely monitored when it comes to internet use and especially chat rooms. It confounds and horrifies me that these parents don't seem to care what their kids are doing on the net. I honestly can't imagine being that naive.
