  Why are the JW's so bad?

  i've been studying the bible with a jehovah's witness in my town, and i'm rather enjoying it.. but why do so many people hate the jw's.. i've researched on my own and have come to the conclusion that they are right on most accounts including the trinity, blood, nationalism... etc.... and the more arguments i hear against the more i'm drawn into believing what they stand for.. and every argument i've seen in support of the things jw's are against the more i think the jw's are right.. so why are they so bad?

  Welcome! I'm not quite sure you are here since you sound like you are already convinced to become a JW. That's fine! It's your decision dear. Most of the people here have a different opinion about JW's because of their personal experiences. Few of us HATE JWs - we hate what they've put us and our loved ones through. It's hating the action, not the person. But differing opinions are okay. Everyone's entitled to that.

  I suggest you pray long and hard about your decision...do lots of research on their beliefs...and take the plunge. I get the feeling you're like me - I like to get people's opinions, but sometimes I need their assurance that I did the right thing. This is something that you'll be on your own with. Be independent. Make your own decision.

  WTBTS Innocent in Swaggart Case?

  awhile back, i saw information on another web site about the wtbts's involvement with the swaggart case.

  the information was presented in a way that depicted the wtbts as involved with the swaggart case and, therefore, false religion.. at first, i was shocked.

  however, i did some research on what an amicus curie is.

  Thanks for the great explanation! I do kind of remember not having to worry about the money issue anymore before I was DFed. But I did think the society changed it because of "educational purposes", to set us apart from other churches. I had no idea, until today, that Jimmy Swaggart was the catalyst for this decision.

  DF/DA people reinstated?

  does anybody have a fairly accurate number of those that are dfed or daed, that have been reinstated?

  i'm just curious as to how many that leave actually go back.

  i was always led to believe from my parents that i was one of [italics]the few[/italics] that hasn't come back.

  I've been out for about 10 years. I don't recall the donation arrangement when I was there - my parents contributed for me. Can anyone explain the "Donation" arrangment for me? When was it changed?

  how are you today?

  hope this message finds you well and in good health.. i am incarcerated at sci rockview, been convicted of homicide, and got sentenced to life in prison, my case is under appeal.

  there is a good chance that i'll get this sentence vacated again, and receive a reconsideration of sentence, hopefully with time served.. i'm afro-american, (light complexion), black hair, green eyes, 5'10", 192 pounds, 57 years old, born on 8/13/43 at chambersburg hospital in franklin county pennsylvania, and raised in the mercersburg area, on a 14-acre farmette.

I was always led to believe from my parents that I was one of [italics]the few[/italics] that hasn't come back. I've got the feeling I'm not part of a few. If a large number of DF/DAed people DON'T return, then isn't the Society wondering WHY? Are they trying to do anything differently to change that?

  RealElder,

  Your honesty and compassion (from the JW side of things) is refreshing! I have yet to meet a JW on this site that has those qualities. (Except for maybe troubled.) Those qualities were severely lacking in my experience. Perhaps if more elders had a heart and backbone like you, you wouldn't be losing so many like us. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

  Hahaha! I know of many women that have said that and then get pissed when the ring really isn't that big. Sadly too true!
