the entire ass-embly was dealing with materialism or higher education; apparantly one leads to the other.
why cant the wts realize that higher education is not just a means to get rich or ahead in this system, but a means to have a career outside of janitorial work?

BEST LIFE magazine, a mens specialty magazine(esp. for older men) had a question in an advice column regarding a man who was trying to get his son interested in a college education. the advisor stated that even though the majority of college grads do not get a job in the field that they studied in college, college is important because it teaches one to think for themselves, which is what scares the WTS.
oh yes, an interesting announcement: "the internet address for the society is NOT www.jehovah's witnesses.org, but is www.watchtower.org. wonder why?
this was the most boring assembly ever. i gotta get outta this place!!!

i know of a sister who got in trouble for doing this. she put a pumpkin(not a jack-o-lantern), a bale of hay, some multi-colored corn, cornstalks, etc. in her front yard, and an elders wife (who is a gilead grad. and normally intelligent) made a fuss out of it. this was one of many ridiculous things that led to her df'ing. the whole story would make you vomit. can't say more, cause it was my real sister.

How old did you expect to be when the New System would come?
by JH ini became a jw at age 28 and no way did i expect to ever get older than 40 years old in this system.. maybe at the extreme, i could have imagined being 45 years old, not more..

i used to cry 'cause i never thought i'd drive a car, let alone marry. i'm 45, driving for 30 years and married for 12 years and fully expect to die an old man in this system of things that may never end.

boy, was the elder body and co not happy about that!.
have any of you done so for any appointments (elder, ms, special pioneer)?

i told the elders that i did not qualify scripturally, based on the qualifications listed in 1 Tim. 3:1-10; esp verse one: "If any man is reaching out for an office of overseer, he is desirous of a fine work." i told the elders that i dont desire to do this, so i wont. the only thing i desire, i would get df'd for.

without any hesitation whatsoever!!!! my wife is the greatest and why she puts up with my bullshit is amazing but im glad she does. i once told a friend in the "truth" that if my wife died in this system and i thought i would make to the new system i would stay single and marry her all over again, jah willing of course. i still feel the same for her, just not for the "truth"
