my father passed away about 7 years ago. he was PO at the time and i was a MS. a lot has changed in my mind since then, but my pops was intelligent and pretty open-minded and we could talk about things that bothered us about the "truth". i wish he were here today so i could tell him what i feel now. i love my mom. she's the only reason(well not the only, but close) i stay in the truth. i just can't talk to her. she's pretty hardcore(you know, the resurrection hope).i envy you and think your dad is OK in my book. i wish you the best. by the way, i live in nc. pm me, i think you mentioned that u live here, or was moving here near asheville. thats a great town. i love the orange peel, great place to hear and see music.

OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENTS
by bonnzo inthe following are some outrageous statements made at my last service meeting.
the part was the first installment of the new om book, "organized to do jehovah's will".
1) when discussing the difference in jehovah's organization and worldly organizations, the conductor remarked that the "higher you go up in jah's org., the more humble people are".

the following are some outrageous statements made at my last service meeting. the part was the first installment of the new OM book, "Organized To Do Jehovah's Will"
1) when discussing the difference in jehovah's organization and worldly organizations, the conductor remarked that the "higher you go up in jah's org., the more humble people are". i didn't know that there was a "higher up". i thought we were all equal. also, the only arrogant people i've ever met in the truth were CO's, DO's and elders and MS's. oh, i forgot pioneers. not all of them, it's just that in the truth, what else would you be arrogant over?
2) he remarked that this book helps us to realize that not only were doctrinal points important, but organizational proceedures were important. based on what scripture? im still waiting on that one.
3) when discussing the importance of the preaching work, he made this statement (and i quote): "it has been said that man's greatest feat has been the global preaching work". what idiot said that? is it really global? how many publishers are in china?
these are just the ones made by the speaker. there are some winners in the book also. since this is to be discussed in future service meetings, i'm sure i'll hear more. i'll post them when i get them. feel free to laugh your ass off and dissect.

What will be the next big 'new light'?
by yaddayadda init's been a while since the watchtower overlords made any serious doctrinal changes.
wts 'new light' seems to be somewhat cyclical, around every ten years or so.
it's been just over 10 years since the 1995 'this generation' change.

Double life, anyone??
by dinah inhow many of you lead double lives while growing up (especially those who grew up jw)?
in the last few days, it seems that bothers me about my adolescence.
i had to be one person for my mother, while still trying to be myself.

What made you lose your joy in serving Jehovah?
by JH inwe all started off as happy witnesses, except for those dragged into this religion by force as kids.. in my case, i found that there were way too many meetings.
then seeing the new system being constantly pushed back, and finally when i saw a lack of true love in the congregation.
and when they hinted that probably there wouldn't be any sex and marriage for the resurrected ones.

a group of young elders/pharisees that kept making rules and being a burden on the flock, which led me to questioning why they were elders to begin with, which led me to questioning the procedure of appointing elders, which led me to questioning the whole idea of the FDS, which led me, eventually, to realize that there is no true religion, which led me to continue to question.....
