I can sense your hurt and disgust. I am torn myself. I feel for the young molester who changes his ways. I feel much more for the victim of this young molester, that I do consider, despite my uncle being one, a pervert.

I don't know what else to say about that. It's just bad, unfortunate stuff.

I will have more thoughts to share with you at a later date, avishai. I just mainly wanted to point out that there are lots out here who care very deeply about the concerns that your brother's plight has brought to light. There is no easy solution.

It's just nice knowing that we CAN do more than the WTBTS is doing about it.

As far as if you should be practicing BJJ, that is up to you. Some JW's will say it's OK, others will say it's not. Most here who are ex-JW's will say that you should be free to practice it fully, UNLESS you are using it to harm other people or to take advantage of them in any other way. That is the reasonable approach.

the first post, I know there is some Jw's that are expelled and would try to throw me off.. The truth there is nothing that I haven't seen.

I've been stabbed, shot at, been in jail, lived on the streets. My family are all Jw's and I'm barely comin back to my sensess. I was born in the truth but I fell off at age of 8. I used to gang bang. So bad influence with words don't affect me or make me curious. thanks for the warning.

Sorry for your rough life. You have obviously seen the other side of the law, etc. People that are suggesting that the JW's are not a good religion are doing it from experience and from careful study of their belief structure. Their arguments are sound. If you completely condemn them it is in fact the "bad words" about them given to you by the WTBTS that is responsible for that.

I am really sorry to hear about how many children have been molested.

My two sisters were. My Uncle admitted to me that he was the prepetrator of it 20 years later. From our discussion 20 years after the fact, it seems as though he did not carry this devious behaviour beyond his adolescence.

When he told me I had already been about 5 years into my being shunned by my family so I could not get my sisters to talk to me about it other than that they were dealing with it the way that they thought best. It's sad that they won't let their df'd brother give them some good advice that I have learned outside their organization. (I only wanted to give them advice on the need for counselling... this sort of discussion as far as my disgust for the org. would never have been mentioned to them... no point.)

This next comment is not meant in any way whatsoever to downplay the suffering that the victims go through!!

My Uncle, (and I believed him that he never carried his behaviour beyond some weird teenage deviance), is suffering as well. As far as I know, the elders didn't know what he had done. He never got involved with the JW's until years later but, their "pray about it and go out in service more" stuff din't help him to recover either. He's been depressed and suicidal for decades.

I'm not saying what he did was anything other than disgutsting but he has never been free in this outside world to get counselling. If the WTBTS allowed it, he likely could have been advised to "recognize and accept that your actions were wrong but that you can live the rest of your life by living by wholesome thoughts and actions." I know that's what I tried to tell him but what does a df'd nephew know. But alas, the WTBTS doesn't help either victim or perpetrator.

Good points. I love this:

Anyone who has a problem with that and continues to avoid the molestor and keep their children from him are advised that they are not being loving brothers and sisters, and to cease ~~protecting their families~~ judging. If the congregation, or some members in it, continue to ~~protcet their children~~ judge, a "marking" talk may be given disciplining the ~~smart~~ rebellious individuals.

Only people who have been JW's and have since left can truly understand ~~the love shown by the organization~~ the HYPOCRISY OF THE ORGANIZATION.

We are all in agreement here that there will always be people who will do vile and disgusting things. My original question to you, which you have not yet answered is:

What is the WTBTS doing to PREVENT these perverse people of society from being able to perform these heinous acts????!!!!

Please, no more simplistic and, quite frankly, prejudiced comments of yours about being the true voice of God. For arguments' sake, pretend you've conviced me that you are right but I want this one thing answered before I join, since I have four kids, aged 10, 7, 6, 4.

Thanks for all those Watchtower quotes. The reality of what actually goes on is more accurately shown by the secret letters to elders.

I find it appalling that they then turn to the media and flat out lie. Being a lawyer (I'm assuming J.R. Brown is a part of their legal/P.R. team) and lying because your client tells you to is one thing. Saying that you are the one true source of God's communication to humans and then deceiving people with lies is such a contradiction to what God stands for in actuality makes me realize how good the rest of the world is outside of the WTBTS.

I respectfuly disagree with this statement of yours:

In this regard the WTBTS is no better or worse than any other religion.

With their words to their followers they say one thing, allowing their followers to feel a false sense of security. With their secret words to the elders, there is a completely different reality going on. This inconsistency makes their structure far worse than most others.

No I do not want the Bible's viewpoint. I never said I did. There are too many ways to interpret the very same texts. Please answer the questions as they are asked. This is one of my points about the WTBTS. They include broken homes with child molestation and rape. I am speechless, to be honest about that one.

With all due respect, there are too many differences of opinion as to which religion is God's chosen one. This discussion is not about that. After reading the first part of your post, I felt the need to remind you that this discussion is about what the WTBTS is doing to prevent child molestation.

All here want to know what positive steps are being taken by your organization to follow along with your claims made in the other topic. Please keep to the question as it is asked. Thanks

Is BroBennett another attempt at Brownboy to slide in as an objective poster? I am not aware that he is for certain. I am trying to take BroBennett's claims as being genuine. As much as we may dislike the WTBTS, I think all of us would be happy to see evidence of them doing more to prevent these heinous acts, in order to protect better the next generation.

I forgot to mention that this is not just directed to BroBennett. Anybody who has thoughts on their proactive approach in preventing it, feel free to make your comments.

I guess, to be fair, any people that have evidence to the contrary of their proactive steps should be free to express their thoughts as well. I'll reserve my comments until a little later on.
