I'm thinking seriously of buying a Siberian Husky and perhaps more later for the sledge, any comments?

i have in previous posts alluded to genesis being compiled from different sources.
theories about a multi-source origin go back as least as far as 1711. some scholars subscribe to the idea that the torah is made up from four different sources.
to illustrate the point examine the following account from genesis.
According to Bible scholar, Israël Finkelstein,(University of Tel Aviv) Moses couldn't be the author (if he really ever existed) because the fact that Genesis mention "Camels" of burden as means of transport is an anachronism. No archaeological proof exist before 1000 BCE. Also he continue pointing that "Ur of the Chaldeans" is another evidence as the Chaldeans appeared in Mesopotamia many years later.

When did the Australian Elders received such instructions? Or do you know the reason why the Australia Branch did so?

in my book of bible stories (1978), chapter 27, the wbts give the impression to readers, that israelites, participated in building egyptian pyramids.
also, the watchtower - november 15, 1987, page 30, raises the two following questions: "do the pyramids of giza (near modern cairo) bring to mind abused slaves toiling under hot sun to drag huge stones into place?
and do you imagine hebrew slaves among them?

While reading the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, November 2001, pp. 78 - 99 (french edition), I came across the following interesting information.
The Egyptologist Zahi Hawass (Director of archaeologie at Giza), and archaeologist Mark Lehner (of Harvard University),conclude that the pyramids weren't constructed by slaves neighter by foreigners, but by Egyptian citizens.
The theory of "foreigners and slaves" orignated from Hérodote (450 BCE). In 1990, a discovery of a necropolis near the three big pyramids of Giza, proved Hérodote wrong.

is it true that the wbts changed its policy concerning eating with disfellowshipped members (now they can)?
but as i don't receive their literature anymore, i don't know if this is true or just a rumour.
if so, what is the reference?
Hi Celia,
No, not in France, but in Belgium. The source is not that good but I wanted to check it out.
Take care,

I enjoyed watching and reading 'Roots'. Very interesting story. We all resemble Alex Haley, searching for the WBTS roots. The father and master of Chicken George is like the Governing Body. One day they tell you how much they love you and encourage you in your work, the other day they get angry with you because they realise you know more then what they know and start getting jealous and remind you, that you're only a slave.

in child abuse court cases, i noticed that the wbts try to point out that elders are under confetional secrecy like the catholic church priests, therefore can't reveal things.. but when a jw is appointed as an elder:.
1) he don't take a vow or oath not to reveal things to the public,.
2) neighter put this in writing.. so how can the wbts try to compare her elders with the catholic priests?.

Do you know of any comments in the WBTS literature which speak against the practice of Priest under confetional secrecy? Also, is there anyone who did research on this topic, from the legal side point why the Catholic Church adopted this method?
