Brownboy's conviction that MJ is innocent is very revealing and in some ways predictable given Brownboy's outlook. I have had conversations with some men who are absolutely convinced that MJ has been framed. These men don't care what MJ himself has said or done to make the situation worse. They just repeat over and over that he's innocent, end of story. Michael is attracting the same kind of devotion from some people - mostly adult men - that religious figures attract. Very, very revealing...and disturbing.

Hey frog,
What a wonderfully expressive letter. You have taken great care to express yourself with sensitivity to others and I hope they will take the time to think about what you've written and respond with care. I'm so pleased that your sister has given you some early encouraging feedback!

I have been reading COC
by fairy inwell, i have read the first few chapters of the latest edition and am surprised at what i read.. the bickering behind the society - how some decisions were not based on scriptural reference - the 607 date - and where the gentile times 1914 thing came about - the malawi/mexico business - ray franz has a very interesting story about the society/governing body amongst other things.. it seems that ever since he was there, he constantly came across things he didnt agree with.. the voting system that was set up to see what articles went in the magazines.. there was one bit in there about being "scriptually free to marry".
one sister caught her husband and an animal together....well..you know......and she divorced him.
she remarried but then told she wasnt free to scriptually marry and they disfellowshipped/dissassociated her.......how ridiculous is that.. and so the story goes........... i thought i would just put my bit in on the first section i have read...will write more when i have read more..

CoC: The single most compelling book ever written on the inside workings of the Watchtower Society. Besides the riveting "fly on the wall observations", it successfully conveys the author's genuine warmth and compassion.

Something our Circuit Overseer said.
by PaNiCAtTaCk inhe said that if we take time to argue or disagree with someone at the door then our guardian angel is already waiting at the next door with out us.
basically what this does is train us to flee from anything that may conflict with what we are trying to teach or anything that we may believe.
to stay at the door and .

So, even the good old guardian angel loses patience with the Jw who argues with a householder and flies on to the next house. I've got a heavenly tip for the nearest guardian angel: Don't lose patience, lose the JW. Surely you can fly more than one house away - they'll always find you. Like, try flying back to heaven, okay?

Kill the Kid, Now That's Justice! (WT 5/15/05 QFR)
by ezekiel3 inthis in it's entirety from the watchtower may 15, 2005, page 31. you might find the reasoning a bit hollow.
questions from readers.
why were david and bath-sheba not put to death for committing adultery, whereas their newborn son died?.

but even paul doesn't come close to Mr. J-lover God.
Oh, agreed, no contest: Big J or Y tops the list. But he has the added distinction of being in a super-being category so he's unfairly advantaged. Superbeings setting themselves up as judge and jury is way beyond my ability to comprehend, anyway. Might is right. Period. Get out of his way! But humans setting themselves up gets to me much more, possibly because underneath it all we're all the same in terms of what we're up against.

Homosexuality and how should a JW or 'Study' view it?
by AnitainFlorida ini am sure the subject is not very descriptive and for this i appologize.. i would like some assistnace in biblical references that say how homosexuality should be viewed and how one should deal with another that is homosexual or that has homosexual friends even if they non study's daughter says she and this other girl aren't 'doing anything'.
i know this is long winded, so i will just now finally get to the point.. i am a grandmother that has recently taken back up studying after a 1-2 year pause.
when i had first started studying, my daughter was also studying and we had our study togeather as i was staying with she and her husband because she had medical trouble and could not care for their 3 children when he was gone to work.

A person can be homosexual and be a JW.
Alternatively, that person can be homosexual and be an ex-JW. In that situation, it's far better to be an ex-Jw than living a lie as many homosexuals who are Jws do. Or, if it gets too much, kill themselves because they have no way to deal with their ego-dystonic homosexuality. The choice is simple but admittedly hard for many to attain: Be true to who you are and get the hell out of an organization that instills in you intense hatred of who you are. Just as being heterosexual entails so much more than "just" sexual desire, so too does being homosexual.

And, just for the record, I think David is one of the most annoying and sometimes disgusting figures in the bible.
Come on now, are you serious?! He's no where near as dangerously irritating as the legalistic convert to Christianity, the apostle Paul. At least David had fun in the sack, whereas Paul oozed frustrated scorn and judgementalism at every turn - and then had the audacity to blindly accuse others of being proud and ambitious.

Biblical fundamentalism goes this way: Twist yourself out of shape to adhere to a strict moral code in your personal life, but believe that under specified circumstances it's okay to wipe out an entire nation of people (genoide).

I may be mistaken, but I thought the dinosaurs appeared on earth after Adam's creation and that their descendents were the two Jws at your door.
