  Lecithin?.....

  does anyone remember the brouhaha over lecithin in candies and other food items?

  i remember one sister writing to all the manufacturers of these products to inquire whether or not the lecithin was from a blood source.

  there were even lists of products to avoid that were circulated in the congregation.

  Lecithin is mostly a mixture of glycolipids, triglycerides, and phospholipids (e.g. phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylinositol). However, in biochemistry, lecithin is usually used as a synonym for pure phosphatidylcholine, a phospholipid which is the major component of a phosphatide fraction which may be isolated from either egg yolk (in Greek lekithos—?e?????) or soy beans from which it is mechanically or chemically extracted using hexane.

  Lecithin is commercially available in high purity as a food supplement and for medical uses.

  It would be great to have an outspoken ex-jw celebrity who's not into blood sports, but if that's what it takes to get the word out about how unhealthy the JW org is, then that's what it takes.

  Despite the blood that is shed, there IS A LOT of money to be made in it. I was at my poorest while studying. And wouldn't you know, the holy spirit didn't even contribute a dime!

  we were just discussing the whole thing about how only those jw's that live through the big a will be able to still be sexual beings and pro-create.

  he said that the society is useing our most natural desires to scare everyone into staying in the org and hoping, above all else to live through the big "a".

  and i was saying to him that if i still believed what they taught, i would kill him and my baby to save them.

  What do you think of Benny Hinn,Joyce Meyer, and Joel Osteen Ministries?

  the whole objective of the wts is to print as many books and magazines and sell them house to house with free labor from its members.. looking at these other ministries,they too print as many books as possible and sell them to it's members and viewing audience.the donations they take in are in the millions.

  some of these ministers are payed a huge salary and live in massive homes which have been shown on television.. my questions are: don't all religions use their members for gains in the name of god?

  How would you know? You have no intrest in church aside from empty speculation

  I have 21 years of church under my belt. Knowlegde rather than speculation.

  Even in small churches, the preachers are paid.

  One of my husband's uncles is a preacher in Maryland. When the Toyota Sequoia first came out, I lusted after it immensely. Wouldn't you know, that's exactly what he was driving at the time?! I thought, "WTF am I doing wrong?" Oh yeah, I'm in the wrong business!!! Religion is where the money's at (specifically, Christianity in this country).

  Tell people what they want to hear once a week and they load you with tax free money out of their pockets. You're a hero, a savior, damn near devine...people work for you and you don't have to worry about your ego not being stroked, food, clothing, shelter, etc.

  The money those TV ministries make is ridiculous! Think of it this way--they are the CEO's of their business church. Some make a fortune while some are just doing okay.
