Well, my grandparents (the ones who told me to stay away from jw's!) are happy.

it was so good to see how happy they were.

How honest about yourself are you here on this forum?
by restrangled ini guess i am too open.
many times i have been slammed and get furious with the results.
there are a few posters including some long time members and possible trolls that enrage me.

I'm honest. Again, I don't have anyone to lose due to saying something like, "For a couple years, I went to Irvington North Congregation..blah blah blah."

Shunning
by Axeman inmost of us here accept that we were indoctrinated as jw's on a very personal level ie: how we should dress acceptable jobs association with socalled worldly people even your own flesh and blood.
a divisive them us mentality them bad us good so having been there i cut my ex wife and sisters a lot of slack telling myself that they are not really responsible for their actions re treating me as if i were dead .
those of us who have experienced this know from their experience how cruel and inhuman this policy is yet the relatives claim the victim status saying that they would not have to do this if you had not left and they are hurting.

Well, you heard it when you were a JW -- we all have free will. Unfortunately when you are an active JW they really don't allow you to use it.
So true, Purza! Cute kittie, btw.
From an outsider, I was told that my jw (ex) friends never really loved me in the first place! See, that's how that shunning $hit is viewed from the outside, never been jw crowd. IT'S CRAP and their choice!
(I don't have family in, as my stepmom shuns me)

When do you decide that it's time to cut your hair ?
by JH inwhen they touch your ears ?.
every given period of time, like every 2 months ?.
when it just doesn't look right anymore ?.
-
lonelysheep
Everytime I go for a color touchup!
Really, though, it's a shame that part of indoctrination is to forbid a bit of long hair on a guy. You're just not allowed to be yourself or unique in anyway.
Longer length hair can be very attractive.

What didn't you do because you were a JW that you now regret?
by jwfacts ini just bought a bottle of wine for an exjw's 30th that i am about to run off to.
on it there was a great quote by mark twain:.
"twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do... explore.

Nothing. Things I didn't do, I do now or have done: I'm back in college and determined to finish, I've thought about what marriage actually means, I think, & I now have a realistic outlook on life.
