the bit about the 15 grandmothers had me close to tears, i can tell you!.
I am assuming then that Eddie Dalaney is a 'brother in good standing in the congregation' then and making a reasonable profit himself then. I understand, and do not begrudge him his profit, except that when reading the Jah Jireh site their bulletin was complaining about the govt. not paying enough into care homes and many homes going out of business because of this. Hence, pleading poverty and inviting charitable contributions. Interesting to see that the Jah Jireh homes do not have this problem. But then they do have a captive clientele, in a manner of speaking.

The words that define what a person is really pee me off!
Elder
Ministerial Servant
Presiding Overseer
Pioneer and Special Pioneer and Auxillary Pioneer (these make me cringe with embarrassment)
Annointed
Other Sheep
Circuit Overseer and District Overseer (I imagine men standing on boxes looking over everything! Just my twisted mind)
Microphone Servant
Book Servant
Why has everyone got a label?
Phrase like 'going out in Service' make me want to spit. Anyone bleating that 'I want to serve Jehovah and be out on the service' makes me want to punch them.
Anyone saying 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaymen' at the end of a prayer used to make me want to fall about laughing.
Contributions
Praising Jehovah with out material wealth
Praising Jehovah by serving him with out youth

Hi Englishman,
Hope you're feeling much better.
With regard to the Jah-Jireh homes, I notice it emphasises being a charity. But does this mean that the Elderly witnesses have to pay to be there. Surely no care home can manage without payment from the residents and that being the case and fees varying from one hundred and fifty pounds a week to well over five hundred depending on the amount of care needed, the place is a business not a charity.
What about the carers. Aren't they paid the minimum wage or can the JWs get away with less if they say they're a charity?
Sounds like the associates are the cash collectors.
I couldn't get onto the video link. It wouldn't connect.
there are many thing i dont regret about jw
learning from jw about cristmas is one of them
the jw were very open about cristmas, going against the "system" require some strenght and that in itself attracted many to the jw org.
Sorry One! Not meaning to judge you but have spent half a day with witness parents so am a little tetchy at having to bite my tongue so often.
No there's nothing good much about the JWs except, as some others have mentioned having met our partners and had our children. They're a bunch of all out total control freaks. Everything needs to be just so and no other way and that can never be healthy.
we had, wait for it.....................home made beef curry and it was fantastic .
i was going to make a dinner, but since there only 3 of us and were not quite there yet, we decided to have our favorite....curry ym.
if the day ever comes and my daughter and her man are out ill have the biggest christmas ever.. but for now, i feel a little empty, and id feel fake, you know trying to enjoy it.
Chicken, steak, stuffing, yorkshire puds, carrots, peas, green beans, roast spuds, gravy followed by trifle, jelly, Xmas cake and a nice cup o' tea!
i am sure i am not the only one that thinks it's ridiculous that they allow pre-teens and young teens to get baptized.
i know now that i did not have a full understanding of the implications of baptism.
i did it primarily because that's what was expected.
Both my husband and myself only got baptized to keep our parents off our backs. Nag, nag, nag! Isn't it time you got baptized? What will people think? I was sixteen and he was eighteen. I wasn't even interested in doing something so stupid but I did understand the shunning consequences if I chose to leave which is why I stayed in for so long, and probably why so many others stay in for so long.
with his wife to say that it's been 3 months since my daughter's wedding and in october he got deleted for going to it even though the presiding overseer told him it was a "conscience matter.
period.
".....the circuit overseer saw it differently and removed my friend as an elder amd my mom as a regular pioneer because of a letter sent only to circuit overseers in 1999!!!!
If your friend is beginning to say that 'they're only around for Jehovah and not the people' then it shows there's some activity going on in his little grey cells and perhaps he won't be at the KH for too much longer. Sometimes it takes fiascos like this to start people thinking seriously about what the hell they doing in a crackpot organization.
It will be interesting to find out if he and his wife are still JWs this time next year.
every year, on dec 25th, witnesses in our area gather at a book study group, and they have a dinner together.
although they say that they don't celebrate christmas, why do they gather on dec 25th like catholics do and share dinner together?
i'm sure that neighbors think that it's a christmas gathering.. i know that there isn't any christmas decorations there, or gifts being given, but i find it odd, that every year, some book study will organize a dinner on december 25th.
My mum tends to have the 'true christians' round on one day and us riff-raff round on another day.
In the summer, before I made our position on JWism totally clear to her she mistakenly invited us at the same time as the 'true christians' and didn't invite my sister who had decided to live with her boyfriend. Once I told her the deal with JWs and us she made sure to separate the 'sheep from the goats' at family gatherings.
(In my opinion, they're the goats!)

Don't be daft, One.
If lies and deception are what you want then that's fair enough. Nobody can argue with that.
You can find some good even in the most wicked organization. Didn't Hitler and Mussolini make the trains run on time?
But why do you think that God would destroy EVERYONE who is not a JW or survivable by 'family merit'?
Christmas has lost most of its religious significance and has become like the humble wedding ring. It has a different meaning now. Remember, when Christ supposedly reviewed all the religions and only found the JWs favourable in 1919 they were still celebrating Christmas and Birthdays and he supposedly had no problem with that then.
Whatever you do, don't lie to yourself. If you just want it to be true and want to accept it then do that but the facts show that it is a self serving survivalist cult that prophecies falsely to a load of gullible victims.
