Perhaps he really does need his ass kicking. My first thought was that his actions were attention seeking and I still think that, but making frivilous light of the representation of sheer evil is probably beyond the pale. What had he been smoking to posses him to wear that get up?

in light of the well placed speculation of the awake going from bi-monthly to monthly publication, all arrows seem to point to the wts attempting to consolidate their operations to save $.. as metatron has stated, it looks like a death spiral for the wts.
maybe that's overstating it, or maybe it's closer to the truth.. here are some items i can think of that the wts has done in the last 10 years to save $no more subscriptionselimination of food service at assemblies and conventionshardcover 192 page books moved to softcoverprinting more items [name badges, dc programs, etc..] in two color instead of 4 color processselling the furman building in brooklyn heights.
I believe that there is more sharing of Kingdum Halls rather than building new ones.
Assemblys are only three days long instead of five to seven, thank God!
Circuit Assemblys have been cut to one day for one of the six month assemblys.
There used to be a new study book each time a new book was to be studied on Tues group now there is constant repeats and repeats and repeats...........

It might have been only slightly more favourable for him if he'd gone dressed as a French Maid. I think he should be ignored for his act because youngest children are always attention seeking and wanting every one to look at them all of them time. Because of his postition he is able to command a larger audiance. Myself, I'm just looking the other way. Dumb Ass!

I always explain to my husband like this, 'Women are the Mark 2 model of human kind and hence the improved version. The mark 1, certainly has its place but so does the new, shinier, more attractive Mark 2. It's just an unfortunate fact for me, that I'm better at washing up!'

as far as i'm aware, no other apocalytic group, in which i include seventh day adventists,born again christians, mormons etc cause as much controversys as the jw's.
i hadn't even realised that born again christians were apocalyptic until i was told by one that 'the end was coming' this week and the tsunami was an act of god to warn us.. so is it just shunning and harrassing people from door to door that makes the jws different?
or could it be their unique form of stupidity?
I agree under74, I have to admit to hearing that kind of thing from a gent who's a Born Again Christian. He has this unshakeable belief that the Lord will protect us who have faith in him. His wife gets angry with him because this particular minister uses it as a reason to avoid going to the doctors as well, and also she has to get angry with him because he doesn't strap the children in the car. 'The Lord will protect' is his annoying moto. I have always been patient with him because of past experience with religionites, and on one occassion wanted to ask him what was more important about him that bad things wouldn't happen. I know that some JWs have the same view though.
My parents told me that they stay witnesses because they believe Jehovah protects them. Yeah.
However, that seem to be a common thought amongst these religions so why the real annoyingness of JWism?
Unless it's the 'you're all going to die and we're not!' attitude. And also, I wondered, does any other religion change its doctrine as much as the JWs.

Also, something that I now find offensive that I didn't used to is their 'We're no Part of the World' doctrine. The separateness they feel from everyone else and superiority is very unfortunate and not at all appealing in fact repulsive to me.

damn it, if they don't have anything new to study, why not move some of the other meetings' material to this hour thus making shorter those other meetings???!!!

Hehe! This bloody book brings back memories. We started to fade, sort of the first time it was studied.
My older son used to hide his trousers before the meeting and cause apoplexy in the house. My husband would complain and huff and puff because he didn't want to go.
The baby would scream and wriggle all through the meetings.
The twins would have farting competitions during the study.
My teenage daughter would sit, red in the face, head bowed and speak to no one because she didn't want to be there.
I'd take extra heart medication because they'd all be stressing me out and embarrassing me.
All I was trying to do was save their lives because Armageddon was coming!!!!!
